... ... ...

Grr! Grr!

I don't know what the sound was but it was scary. I slowly open my eyes. I see a huge wolf thing that's baring its teeth. I squeal and slap the boy. He groans and opens his eyes. Immediately on alert, he starts growling back at the wolf and pulling me behind him. I can tell he is trembling in fear. He grabs his knife and shows the wolf. The wolf stops growling for half a second then starts snapping at us. Gorilla boy gets on all fours and snaps back. I screech as the wolf jumps on the bed. Gorilla boy cuts his foreleg.

I screech again and bare my teeth. I jump on the wolf out of fear and bite his neck. Gorilla grunts as he pushes the wolf off of the bed with me on him. He falls on me and starts wriggling to get out of my grasp. I let go only to slam my fist down on his head. The wolf slowly rises and shakes his massive head. Gorilla boy jumps on the wolf and growls.

The wolf is pinned. The woman comes in and starts yelling at Gorilla. I screech at her, helplessly pointing to the wolf. She gets Gorilla off of the beast and with a softened face says, "This is my wolf. He won't harm you; he just wanted to play."

If he wanted to play, then why was he growling? I hop into Gorilla's lap and put an arm around his neck. I coo, telling him it's okay.

... ... ...

After the wolf incident I took Jamie out to the creek to take a bath and calm down. She did until a yowling yellowish orange cat showed up. Turns out, Kala has a wolf and a cat. I don't know how the cat is still alive, but whatever.

Now we're in the village fixing houses and healing people. Jamie hands me a rock. I smash it into the wooden nail, making it go into the door hinge. I put three others in to hold the door up. We walk to the next hut. The roof is caved in. We'll leave the experienced people to this.

I take a break from many hours of working and walk into the woods. Jamie follows close by, cooing and making soft sounds. I find our old camp site and the dead bodies where we left them. I walk to the red head and search him. I find a better knife, four arrows, and greenish papers with an old guy's face on it. I toss the latter and take the arrows and knife. I search every guy and find four knives, twenty arrows, a really nice bow, more green paper that I throw aside, horrible tasting brownish liquid, and three lighters.

I take all of it back to the village and into my room. Jamie stays behind to look for Aaron while I prepare lunch. Kala is in the kitchen making some sort of noodles already. I stand behind the counter and wait.

"Oh hello. How are you?" I nod. "Well, do you want to help?" I nod again. "Take these and find those red strawberries I told you about yesterday."

I grab the bowl and start outside to pick berries. I cross the creek and walk through the village to the woods. Once in the woods I look for the big patch of berries. I find them and start picking. I pick all of them by the time the sun starts setting. I take the bowl full of strawberries and head back. As I near the edge of the forest a hand covers my mouth while another wraps around my stomach. I try to kick, but the guy has me secured to him. Instead I bite.

He squeals and tries to take his hand from my mouth. I hold on while I face my captor. It is just Aaron. I let go of his hand and glare at him. He cradles his hand while whimpering.

"Remind me never to trick you again. Gosh, why'd ya bite me?!" I smile and start to pick up my berries I dropped. Aaron helps me, well sort of. I take the bowl and start toward the village.

"Hey, where'd you get these?!" He touches my quiver of twenty or so arrows and my bow on my back. I point towards our old camp. "The bodies? Ugh, I was gonna go there later and loot them. Why'd ya have to beat me to it?"
