Andrew and Lexi decided to head back to Andrew's house to unwind and savor their newly engaged status.

As soon as they walked through the door, Andrew's mood shifted. His intense gaze was locked on Lexi, and there was an unmistakable smirk on his lips—the one that always made her heart race. The charm that Andrew was known for came out in full force as he gently pushed Lexi against the wall, his body pressing against hers.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to make you mine," he whispered, his voice deep and low as he leaned in closer, his lips brushing against her ear. His hand slid down to her waist, pulling her even closer, their bodies fitting together perfectly.

He captured her lips in a searing kiss, his hands wandering, exploring every inch of her as if he couldn't get enough. His kisses trailed down her neck, leaving a burning path in their wake, and Lexi found herself completely lost in him.

"Never a dull moment with you." She said pulling away and grinning.

Andrew chuckled, the sound vibrating through his chest. "You love it, though. Admit it."

Lexi bit her lip, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Maybe I do."

"Andrew, I'm craving something sweet," she said, her voice soft and teasing as she looked up at him. "Will you get me some of my favorite candy?"

Andrew grinned, planting a kiss on her forehead. "Anything for you, princess. I'll be right back."

He pulled on a pair of jeans and grabbed his jacket, giving Lexi one last lingering kiss before heading out the door. "Don't move—I'll be back before you know it."

Lexi watched him leave, a warm feeling spreading through her chest. She loved how Andrew always made her feel special, going out of his way to make her happy. She climbed into bed, smiling to herself as she imagined the life they were about to build together.

Minutes passed, then an hour. Lexi started to grow restless. It wasn't like Andrew to take this long—he was usually back in a flash whenever he went on one of his late-night runs. She checked her phone, but there were no messages from him.

Worry began to creep into her mind. She tried calling him, but the call went straight to voicemail. Lexi's heart began to race as panic set in. Something wasn't right.

A police siren cut through the night.
