The ambulance arrived quickly, and Lexi was rushed to the hospital with Andrew by her side, his heart pounding in his chest. He didn't let go of her hand the entire ride, praying with everything he had that she would wake up.
When they arrived at the hospital, the doctors took Lexi away, and Andrew was left in the waiting room, pacing back and forth, his mind racing. He couldn't believe this was happening. He couldn't believe he might lose her.
Time seemed to drag on endlessly. Brent, Ben, and the others arrived at the hospital shortly after, but Andrew couldn't bring himself to look at them. He was too focused on Lexi, on the fear gnawing at his insides.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, a doctor approached him. "She's awake," the doctor said, and Andrew's knees nearly buckled with relief. "She's asking for you."
Andrew didn't waste a second. He rushed into the room, his heart pounding as he saw Lexi lying in the hospital bed, looking pale but awake. Her eyes met his, and he saw the tears glistening there.
He was by her side in an instant, taking her hand in his, pressing it to his lips. "Lexi," he breathed, his voice breaking. "I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"
Lexi smiled weakly, her fingers squeezing his. "I'm okay, Andrew. Just a little shaken up."
Andrew cupped her face gently, his thumb brushing away the tear that slipped down her cheek. "You scared me," he admitted, his voice rough with emotion. "I thought I lost you."
"I'm here," she whispered, her eyes searching his. "And Andrew... there's something I need to tell you."
Andrew's heart skipped a beat. "What is it?"
Lexi took a deep breath, her voice trembling as she spoke. "I'm pregnant."
The words hung in the air, and for a moment, Andrew could only stare at her, his mind reeling. "Pregnant?" he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper.
She nodded, tears spilling down her cheeks. "I found out a few days ago. I was going to tell you, but then everything happened so fast..."
Andrew was silent, his mind racing as he tried to process what she was saying. He had always been the reckless one, the funny one, the immature one even. But now, he was going to be a father. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks, but instead of fear, he felt something else—a fierce, protective love.
"I'm with you," he finally said, his voice firm and full of resolve. "Whatever happens, we'll face it together. I love you, Lexi. I'm going to be there for you and our baby, no matter what."
Lexi's eyes filled with relief and love as she reached up to pull him into a kiss. "I love you too, Andrew. I'm scared, but I know we can do this."
Andrew kissed her deeply, his hands cradling her face as he poured all of his love and passion into that kiss.
