Opera

This chapter is quite long.

PLOT: While MK x Red Son are getting ready for a date night at the Opera house, Xiao is having a sleepover with her friends Pennie and Kate, while also babysitting her baby brother, toddler, Albert.

Meanwhile, Sam needs Topaz and Bao's help with moving into Sandy's houseboat.

The evening air crackled with anticipation as MK and Red Son prepared for their annual date night.

Red stood fussing with his outfit in the elegant bedroom of their cozy home.

Meanwhile, downstairs, MK was giving final instructions to his eldest and only daughter, Xiao, who was cradling her toddler brother, Albert, in her arms.

"Now remember Xiao, you need to feed Al some warm milk before bed at 6, and then..." He started.

Xiao interrupted midsentence, rolling her eyes as she said, "Dad, I've got this. I've already done it so many times before that it's practically built into my brain." She was confident in her ability to complete the bedtime routine.

MK chuckled nervously and said, "Sorry, just checking. You know how worried I get when we leave you two alone in the house."

Xiao smiled, her gaze softening. "I know, Dad."

Pennie, Xiao's ever the reliable friend, chimed in, "Don't worry, Mister MK, we'll help take good care of Al. You can trust us."

Grateful for the support, MK smiled at Pennie, "I do trust you, Pennie. And thank you."

Pennie gave him a thumbs up.

MK leaned down and cooed to Albert, "Now you be a good baby boy for your big sister, okay sweetie?"

Albert giggled, "Okie Mama."

MK grunted slightly in frustration due to Red was tardiness. He called out to him, shouting, "Red, are you ready yet?"

Red Son, adjusting his collar, emerged from upstairs. "I'm coming I'm coming!"

As Red Son hurried down the stairs, he flashed a sheepish smile at MK. "Sorry for taking so long, love. I just wanted to look perfect for our night out."

MK's cheeks flushed with warmth as he caught sight of his husband. MK whistled in admiration, "Looking sharp, handsome."

Red Son modestly replied, "What, this old thing? I've had it for ages."

MK moved closer, planting a soft kiss on Red's cheek, "It suits you."

Red Son, in turn, noticed MK's attire, "I see you're wearing the hoodie I got you last week. You look adorable in it."

MK giggled mischievously, "Well, if you think I'm adorable, maybe I should wear it more often." Playfully, he transformed into his monkey form, gently brushing Red's face with his soft tail.

Red Son, unable to resist, succumbed to a shudder of pleasure, revealing his distinctive demon features and humorously quipping, "MK, not in front of the kids."

Xiao groaned with a deadpan expression, "Yes, please stop!"

Pennie whispered to Kate, "And I thought Bao's parents were wholesome."

Meanwhile, Kate couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as she longed for the wholesome family dynamics she witnessed, which stood in stark contrast to her own experiences with her divorced parents.

Amidst the banter, young Albert chimed in with his innocent babble, "Flurry, blech."

Red Son chuckled at his son's comment, correcting him by saying, "It's pronounced 'flirty,' Albert. But you're right, we should save such pleasantries for the Opera," He said as he cupped his husband's cheek.
The married couple stared into each other's eyes with undying affection.
