Mai and Aki decided to turn off the lights and try to sleep. After ten minutes, Mai broke the silence.

"I can't sleep," she whispered.

"That's because you haven't even tried," Aki whispered back, letting out a small chuckle.

"I don't really want to sleep," Mai admitted with a smile.

"You know what I'm thinking about right now?" Mai added.

"Sushi?" Aki replied, smiling as she looked at Mai.

"How did you know that?" Mai chuckled.

"Because you're always craving sushi. Sometimes it feels like I'm hanging out with a pregnant woman," Aki chuckled softly.

Mai chuckled softly, then sighed. "I want to get out of here," she murmured, burying her head in her arms. Her voice was muffled as she yawned softly.

"Tell me this isn't just negative energy and that you actually want to sleep," Aki teased, chuckling softly before ruffling Mai's curly hair.

"We'll get out of here, Mai Mai," Aki said gently.

She then noticed that Mai had fallen asleep and chuckled softly to herself before closing her eyes as well.

The next morning, Mai woke up to the sound of Holly speaking loudly as Aki and Pearl laughed along.

"Guys, I'm hungry," Holly whined, wandering around the storage area in search of anything edible.

"Wonder how long it will take her to start screaming because she's hungry," Pearl muttered, smiling and rolling her eyes before following Holly.

Aki noticed that Mai had woken up, although Mai remained still, staring at the ceiling for a few minutes.

"Are you still alive?" Aki asked with a smile, crossing her arms.

"I'm rotting," Mai whispered, closing her eyes again.

"Come on, Mai, wake up. We need to get out of here," Aki sighed.

Mai sighed and sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Fine, I'm up. What's the plan?"

Aki looked around at the group, her eyes sparkling with a sudden idea. "You know, the science lab on the third floor has chemicals and equipment. Maybe we can make something to help us get out of here."

Pearl's eyes widened with interest. "Like a smoke bomb or something?"

"Exactly," Aki said, her excitement growing. "We can create a distraction to get past the zombies. Holly, Pearl, Mai, let's gather everything we can find that might be useful."

Holly, still rummaging through the storage area, looked back at them. "Okay, but can we find some food first? I'm starving."

Mai chuckled. "We'll make a quick stop in the cafeteria on our way. Who knows, maybe we'll find something there."

Aki nodded. "Alright, let's move quickly. We'll split up to cover more ground. Mai and I will head to the cafeteria. Pearl and Holly, you two check the science lab for anything we can use."

They all nodded in agreement, a newfound sense of purpose giving them energy. As they quietly made their way out of the bathroom, Aki turned to Mai and whispered, "Let's hope this works."

Mai gave a determined nod. "It has to. Let's do this."

Mai and Aki carefully made their way to the cafeteria. As they walked inside, Mai whistled. She jumped behind the counter to search for food and then looked at Aki with a smile.
