"Addi, go hang up some lights outside on the backyard patio," Violet instructed me.
I sighed. That was Sadie's job but she disappeared as soon as Marc arrived to help.
Now I had to do her job. I missed my bed. It's beautiful light pink comforter and sheets and the fluffy pillows that I hugged at night, and don't even get me started on the mattress, oh my g-
"Addison! Why are you just standing there? Hurry up, the party starts in thirty minutes!"
I stopped daydreaming and headed outside to the patio, muttering about how much of a jerk Violet was.
When I got there I turned on the outside light so I could see what I was doing and screamed when I saw that I wasn't alone.
"What are you guys doing!?" I screeched.
Marc and Sadie were in the corner of the patio making out violently. I felt like I had intruded on something.
I covered my eyes and turned away. Sadie gasped and Marc pulled away from her.
"Addi! What are you doing here!"
"I was trying to do your job until I saw whatever you two were doing," I said, slowly turning around to face them again.
Sadie looked at the lights in my hand before snatching them from me, "Whatever, just go. I'll do it."
"Can I go back to sleep now?" I whined.
"No, the party hasn't even started yet. Go look for something to do."
I sighed and went back inside.
"Why are we throwing a party again?" I asked when I saw my sisters in the kitchen. They were in the pantry grabbing all the drinks they could find. Olivia had gone out to the shed to grab coolers to keep them in. Wila had put out cookies, cupcakes, and other snacks.
Violet's boyfriend was out grabbing loads of ice and even more drinks. I hope this isn't a big party.
"Why do you ask so many questions, Addison?" Wila snapped.
"Aren't you excited? This is your first big girl party," Violet said, smiling.
"I kind of wanted to just go to sleep," I mumbled.
"Too bad."
Oliva had brought in ten coolers that were to be spread in various locations around the house. After doing that Derek arrived in his truck with lots of ice, drinks, and even more coolers. For some reason most of the drinks were alcoholic. I think the only one that didn't have alcohol was the water. What kind of party were they throwing?
When everything was set up everyone had met back in the living room to make a plan as they called it.
"Okay, so mom's going to be gone for two days so we're throwing a party tonight. It starts in like ten minutes but people are already here. Guys, we're stopping the party at 2:00 a.m. so we can get some sleep. Start kicking everyone out at 1:45 a.m. We'll clean up later," Violet said.
