I heard people screaming from downstairs and people running upstairs. I should've told the police that the bad people were on my patio and not in the house.
I was about to head downstairs when someone pulled me back.
"Addison, come on!" Willa grabbed my hand and began leading me to her room, shutting the door behind us.
"The police are here!" She said, frantically.
I nodded, "I'm aware."
"Everyone at this party is underaged. If they catch us then they'll take us to jail," She screeched, pacing in the room, "We have to escape."
"I'm sure they're here for a good reason," I said, calmly.
Willa glared at me, "It doesn't matter. We have to get out now!"
"How are we going to do that? We're upstairs," I said. I was starting to think it wasn't such a good idea to call the police after all. I probably should've just told one of my sisters.
Willa went to her room's sliding window and slid it open before looking down, "We'll escape through here."
I scoffed, "I am not jumping out a window."
She shook her head, "I'm not asking you to. There's a ladder. We can use it to climb down to the ground. We have a bunch of bushes below so we can hide in them and sneak away."
"What about our other sisters?" I asked looking towards the door. I could now hear the police on our floor making their way through the house.
Willa shrugged, "Every man for himself. I'm only helping you cause this is your first party and I don't want it to end with you in jail. Now let's go."
Willa went first, slowly climbing down the ladder outside her window. I went down after her. Even though my vision was blurry I was still able to make it down just fine.
We hid in the bushes for a bit and saw lots of people in handcuffs being walked to police cars. One of those people being Olivia. I tried to go after her but Willa pulled me back. After Willa was sure it was safe, we ran out of the bushes and toward the street. I followed Willa wherever she was going and when we were out of sight she turned her run into a walk.
"I wanna go to bed," I whined and Willa scoffed, "Where are we going anyway?" I asked.
The wind was blowing hard causing Willa's wavy, blonde hair to go all over her face. She pushed her hair back and answered me, "To my boyfriends house."
I frowned, "You have a boyfriend?" Maybe I missed it but I have never heard Willa say anything about a boyfriend.
She nodded, "Yeah just don't tell anyone, okay?"
"Sure," I said, rubbing my eyes.
"Only Violet knows," She said.
"Why?"
"Because she's my twin and I tell my twin everything."
"Oh okay."
When we reached Willa's boyfriend's house, we were in a different neighborhood—a neighborhood with big houses, perhaps bigger than ours.
"Does your boyfriend go to our school?" I asked.
"No."
"What school does he go to then?" Another high school in the area would be an hour away.
"He's..." She hesitated before saying, "He's done with school."
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"He graduated three years ago."
My eyes widened, "He's twenty-one!" I exclaimed and Willa shushed me.
"Not yet! His twenty-first birthday is next month," Willa said.
"But you just recently turned eighteen," I said, shocked, "How long have you been dating him?"
"Since freshmen year," She said quietly.
"So he was a senior when you guys started dating and you were a freshman?" I asked.
"Yeah, but it's not as bad as you're thinking," Willa said, quickly.
"How so?"
"Well, in freshman year I was a cheerleader and while at practice I would always see him practicing with the football team and he was really good so I started to like him..." she trailed off and looked back at me to see my reaction.
"Violet said I should try to talk to him and stuff so that's what I did."
"How would a freshman get in contact with a senior?" I asked her.
"I'd figured out his classes and the only one I could get with him was art but that was only because he transferred to it at the last minute. So I went there and approached him and we kinda hit it off you could say."
"Really?" I asked.
"Well, not at first. I'd spent half of the art semester trying to get his attention and almost gave up when one of our mutual friends said my name and he asked them who I was like he never knew of my existence, but after that, I did manage to get his attention so it's fine."
"Does he not plan to go to college?" I asked. There was no college in our area.
"He's in college but they're getting two weeks off so he came back here to visit. His dad had brought him a house so he has a place to stay when he comes back and hang out with his friends," Willa said.
"Oh."
We now walked up to a two-story house. It was huge! Bigger than any other house on the block. Willa told me that while we were walking here she had texted him saying that we were going to spend the night. She lifted the doormat and grabbed a key which she used to unlock the door before putting it back.
When we walked in Willa turned on the lights and I could now see how beautiful this house was on the inside.
Willa saw me looking around in awe and smiled, "Neat isn't it?"
I nodded and walked around a bit. Willa soon led me upstairs to a guest room where she told me to shower.
I didn't feel dizzy anymore but I was still tired. I started to once again realize how much I wanted to go to bed. After my shower, Willa came in with a set of pj's. She told me they were hers' and that she sometimes would leave her clothes at this house.
I got into the big bed and to my surprise, Willa laid down next to me.
"Willa?" I asked after the lights had been turned off.
"Hm?" She mumbled probably already half-asleep.
"What about our sisters?"
She was quiet momentarily before whispering, "They'll be fine. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. Go to sleep, okay?"
"Okay."
I thought about telling her that it was me who called the police but decided that could wait till the morning.
(A/N: AHH! I'm kinda back I guess, at least for this story!)
