I woke up the next morning with Willa no longer next to me. My eyes scanned the room before I took the covers off of me and got up. The clock read 10:30 a.m.

The curtains were open and the light was shining bright from outside. I wandered sleepily out of the room and down the stair where I heard voices.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Willa with a guy. Both of them were turned away from me. The guy was quite muscular but not in an overbearing way and his hair was neatly cut and styled. This is probably Willa's secret boyfriend. They were having a quiet conversation while looking through the fridge. Eggs and bacon were frying on the stove and what looked like waffles in the toaster.

I hated speaking in the morning without brushing my teeth so instead of alerting the unassuming couple of my presence with words I walked up behind them and tapped Willa on the shoulder.

She flinched and turned around quickly, holding a fork in her hand. Her boyfriend turned around also and to my shock, he was... pretty.

Handsom I mean. Like way too old for me but still attractive kind of way. His face was gorgeous and his light brown hair went perfectly with his dark brown eyes. They were complete opposites of Willa's blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Addi! Don't sneak up on people like that!" Willa scolded.

I rolled my eyes and shrugged.

Willa's boyfriend looked between me and Willa confused.

"Oh, I forgot you two haven't met before. Andrew, this is my sister Addison, and Addison this is my boyfriend, Andrew."

I waved and he said hi. While he turned back to finish the eggs and bacon on the stove I dragged Willa back up to the room.

"What?" She asked annoyed.

I pointed to my mouth and her confused face turned to one of realization, "Hold on, I'll go get you a new toothbrush."

She came back with one and led me to the bathroom so I could brush my teeth. When I finished I walked back into the room where she was waiting for me.

"Don't we have school today?" I asked.

Willa shrugged, "I don't probably."

"Well we gotta go. Come on we're already super late-"

"Addi, we're not going to school today," Willa said, grabbing my arm.

"Why not?"

"Let's have fun instead. Andrew and I are going out and if you want we could-"

"No Willa, I want to go to school," I said, getting irrated.

"Well, I'm not taking you to school."

"Fine I'll walk."

"No you won't. We're dropping you off at Marc's house okay?"

"I don't want to go to Sadie's boyfriend's house."

"Too bad. I heard Mason stayed home today you can hang out with him. We're leaving after we eat breakfast."

I sighed and followed her down. I ate breakfast with them but I didn't do much talking. If I didn't go to school I'd miss afterschool track practice. I haven't missed a day of school since second grade and that was because I had the stomach bug. Now I was missing a day because my stupid sister wanted to hang out with her boyfriend instead of going to school.

I got in the back seat of a fancy car that belonged to Willa's boyfriend and we drove over to Marc's house.

When we got there Willa basically kicked me out of the car and her and her boyfriend sped down the street.

I walked over to the door and knocked only to be met with Sadie's face. She squealed when she saw me and I did the same, bringing her into a hug. I was so happy she was okay I hadn't seen her getting arested but I wasn't sure what happened to her.

"Oh my gosh, I've never been so happy to see you!" She exclaim as we broke apart and walked into the house. It looked just like it had when I came here for Christmas but without the Christmas decorations.

"Was it Willa who dropped you off? I've never seen that car before," Sadie asked.

"Yeah, it was her and-" I paused. If I remember correctly from last night Willa said that only Violet knew about her secret boyfriend so she probably didn't want me to tell Saide, "Her friend," I finished my sentence.

"Is it a boy? Does he go to our school?" Saide gasped, "Does Willa have a boyfriend!?"

"Uh, I don't know. You can ask her when she comes back."

Sadie smacked my arm and pouted, "You never give me any tea!"

I laughed, "Sorry."

"Mason's in his room so you can go say hi. I think he's sick or something so don't stand too close to him I don't want you spreading his issues. If you need anything Marc and I are going to be in the living room having a Fast and Furious movie marathon. Have fun," With that, she walked away and I headed upstairs.

I knocked on Mason's door and entered when I heard him say "come in." He was in his bed with the blanket up to his chin. He had a small heater on and the movie Toy Story was play on his TV.

I sat next to the heater and looked back at him, "Hi."

He tried to smile, "Hey."

His voice sounded bad and his nose was a bright red. He looked like he might fall asleep at any moment.

"What're you sick with?" I asked.

He sniffled and sat up slightly, "I think some kind of cold but Marc says probably the flu since I got sick this morning."

"That sucks."

"Yeah. Why are you wearing pj's? You're not going to school? Are you sick too?"

I shook my head, "They're Willa's I didn't get to go back home before I got here so I'm stuck wearing these for now."

"I heard about the party at your house last night. Is it true the police came?" Mason asked.

I nodded, "Yeah, a bunch of kids got arrested."

"Good thing you escaped. I wonder who called them."

My face flushed slightly, "Yeah, me too."

"Are they still at your house? The police I mean," Mason asked, reaching for a tissue to blow his nose.

"I don't know. Nobody wants to drive me back to the house so I can't see if they are," I said.

"I say we go check it out," Mason said smiling.

"How would we get there?"

"We could ride bikes," Mason suggested.

"With all the snow outside?" I asked.

"We could also walk," I looked at him unconvinced.

"Come on it'll be fun. We'll just look real quick and then run if we see something. We've got nothing better to do."

"You think we'll get caught?" I asked.

"I'll bet you my month's allowance that we won't," He said confidently.

"Alright," I said and Mason cheered, "Let's do it."
