❛ voi-effing-la. ❜ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO after Mackenzie received a very stern talking to from Kiara's father—aka her boss, and she and John B were sent along with a deep regret and a deep debt to the Carrera family, Mackenzie resided our back of Heyward's Seafood. Her back was leaned against the wall beside her brother.
"I'm just glad Mr. C didn't fire me then and there," Mackenzie begins telling Pope as she blows out the smoke from her last puff of her brother's juul. "He looked like he was gonna--"
The faint, familiar honk of the Twinkie cuts her off, averting the three Pogues' gaze to their right, where they see John B ushering them over. Mackenzie smirks as she pushes herself off the wall, handing JJ his juul. "Let's ride," he mutters, taking it into his hands.
Mackenzie smiles at John B as she takes her spot in he passenger seat. "Ah, there's my partner in crime." The two of them do the signature Pogues handshake. "What kind of crimes have you decided to commit today?"
"You'll see," he says before rapidly pulling the car.
The four Pogues arrive at the Wreck minutes later, attempting to convince Kiara to join them. And all though it took some convincing due to her father's unrolling words today, she eventually hopped into the back with the two bickering boys.
"You mind if I just relax on this one? It's been a long day, and a lot of weird stuff's gone down. I'm just gonna lay low— Oh, did you want a hit of this?"
"I keep the signal clear," Pope declined.
"Dude, okay. Do you understand that your problem is that you don't get creative? If you got creative, then—"
"Look, I— I know I was wrong about the lighthouse, all right?" says John B, calling an end to their argument. "And wrong about everything else going on." Mackenzie looks to him at the obvious mention of the kiss they shared earlier. "But I— I was right about one thing. Okay? My dad is trying to tell me something."
Mackenzie hums, gazing through the window as John B pulled the van up just outside a cemetery gate. "Of all places you could have taken us. It had to be a cemetery in the middle of the night."
Her arms cross over her chest as the wind blows by, casting an ominous cloud to the destination.
"Come on, hey."
"I'm coming." Mackenzie jogs ahead. "This place is scary."
"John B, what are we doing?" asks Kie.
"Shut up. Okay, so you know how you're trying to remember a song, but you can't remember who sings it?" The Pogues nodded. "Redfield. This whole time, i thought it was a place, right? But it's not a place."
