❛ keep calm and carry on. back to obx life. ❜THE SUMMER MOVIE SERIES was a nostalgic event in the glorious Outer Banks. Mackenzie remembered the days when she was younger, coming to see the old 1900's movie that was playing that day of the week. It had always been a safe place for her. The one place she knew nothing could go wrong.
"I'm so glad they're still doing this. Keep calm. Carry on. Back to OBX life. You know? Aren't you guys glad I made you come?" Pope placed down a lawn chair as JJ took a seat on the cooler he had brought. Mackenzie and Kiara threw out a blanket onto the prickled, dead grass
"Estatic."
"My couch was pretty comfy, I'll be honest."
Mackenzie rolled her eyes at her brother before tapping Kiara's shoulder. "Wanna come with me to grab some drinks?"
Kie nods, neither of the girls bidding a farewell to the two boys whilst they strutted away. The two girls chat aimlessly between each other as they approach the concessions stand, Kiara pulling out her wallet whilst she asks for three Pepsi's.
"Where the hell is JB?" Mackenzie asks her friend. "Have you seen him at all since this morning?"
Kiara shakes her head as she opens her mouth to answer the blonde. Although, it seems Rafe beats her to the punchline when he makes his way over to them, causing a roll of Mackenzie's eyes. "Hey, Kie. Mack. What's up, guys? How are you?"
"We're fine."
Mackenzie doesn't even dare to look at him. She'd, truthfully, had enough of his bullshit and has interacted with him enough to last her a lifetime.
"Good, good. Um... tell your boy that we know what he did." Rafe sends a quick glance at Mackenzie, a lump forming in her throat as she attempts to avoid his eyes.
Kiara's brows furrow at his statement. "Sorry, what boy are you talking about?"
Rafe nods. "He'll know."
Kiara doesn't say anything more the the nineteen year old boy as she grabs the drinks, handing Mackenzie her Pepsi before turning on her heels. "Bye," Rafe calls to Kiara before his eyes land on the blonde whom crosses her arms at him. "Always a pleasure to see you, Mackenzie."
Mackenzie looks the Kook up and down, eyeing his appearance from his scuff-less sneakers to the backwards hat rested upon his typically jelled hair. "I see you've finally decided to put a rest to the polo's."
Rare glances down before smirking at the blonde. "You like what you see?"
Mackenzie lets out a loud, faux laugh. "Oh, yeah. Looking at you in those damn polo shirts made me wanna gauge my own eyes out."
