"you got a great score, i can feel it, i promise" aaron nods, holding her shoulders firmly and leaning down to look into her eyes.

"so did you. and we're going to be a dual income household. and everythings gonna be fine" elia nodded, and aaron chuckled.

"yes we are" he nodded, a large smile on his face.

elia and aaron had been together three years, they'd had their ups and downs, their highs and lows, and it all came down to this very moment.

to their lsat scores.

or, at least, that's what it felt like.

they'd signed up to take the test together on the same date. that way neither of them had to wait for the others score to be released. and they both would find out at the same time. and the day had finally come, their enveloped were sat in front of them, still neatly sealed.

they both let out the breaths they were holding before they grabbed their respective envelopes, tearing them open. elia let out a shaky breath and pulled the paper out, and as she opened it, the numbers stood out to her loud and clear, and her hand covered her mouth as tears brimmed her eyes.

"what? what is it?" aaron panicked as he saw tears welling in her eyes, his letter falling to the floor as he gently cradled her face with his hands.

"i-i..." she trailed off, her voice cracking slightly.

"what is it baby?" he says softly, his eyes desperately searching her face.

"175" she whispers.

"what?" he asks, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"175" she repeats, her voice slightly whimpering.

aarons mouth falls open in shock and is quickly replaced with a wide smile.

"oh my god!" he laughs, quickly wrapping his arms around her waist, picking her up off of her feet and twirling her around.

"ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE" she shouts joyously, a loud laugh following as tears of joy dripped down her cheeks, her arms wrapped tightly around aaron's neck.

"oh i told you that you did just fine" aaron mumbles into her neck as he places her back down onto the ground.

"what'd you get!" elia asks enthusiastically, tapping excitedly on his shoulders.

he pulls away with a wide smile on his face.

"170"

elia lets out another excited scream before jumping back into his arms and tightly wrapping her arms around his neck.

"GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY HERE WE COME!" elia squeals, and aaron laughs before pulling his head back and pulling her into a deep kiss.

"i love you" he breathes out, placing his forehead softly on hers.

"i love you more, aaron." she says softly, her hands gently combing through his hair.

"i'm gonna love you for the rest of my life" he promises, his eyes flickering between hers.

"you can't promise that" she chuckles, the butterflies erupting in her stomach as the blush rises across her cheeks.

"i can't promise most things, but i can promise that." he nods his head, reaching up and cradling his face in her hands.

elia pauses, her eyebrows furrowing gently as she stares up at him. she gently brings her hands to his abdomen, caressing his sides with her thumbs, as a gentle smile crosses her lips.

"i'll hold you to it" she nods

while aaron and elia celebrated their scores with their friends in their  shared apartment, all aaron could do was stare at the girl. every moment he could spare, he spared admiring the girl that he'd deemed to be the love of his life. the way her freshly curled hair bounced as she danced excitedly with her friends, and the way that she threw her head back in laughter. elia cho was everything to him, and he swore to himself that he'd never let a day go by that she didn't know that.

as the celebration died and their friends passed out drunk in their living room, aaron and elia laid in bed, elia's chin on aaron's chest as they admired one another.

"i have something for you"

"you have something for me?" elia asks, sitting up slightly as aaron moves to grab something from his bedside table.

he sits up and elia sits fully up, waddling over to straddle his legs, and she looks down between them, a small gasp leaving her mouth as she sees the ring box in his hands.

"aaron..." she breathes out

"i-it's not- i'm not proposing. yet. i just...it's a promise ring." he says, opening the box to display a beautiful ring, a small sapphire on a thin gold band.

"baby..." elia breathes out, her hand covering her mouth.

aaron clears his throat, pulling the ring out of the box and holding his hand out, looking up at her as if asking for her hand. elia places her hand in his and aaron carefully slides the ring onto her left ring finger.

"we have a long way to go, we both know that. but i didn't want another day to go by without you knowing that i fully intend on spending the rest of my life with you. it's you, elia. it'll always be you. you're all the best parts of me and i...i can't imagine going through life with anyone but you. so when the time comes, it's gonna be you. i promise" he confesses, holding deep eye contact with her.

elia chuckled, tears already spilling down her cheeks as she smiles down at him.

"i love you, aaron hotchner" she cried softly, grabbing his face in her hands and pulling him in for a kiss.

"i love you forever, elia cho"
