People aren't home, they never will be. People are Rivers, always changing.
Forever flowing.
They will disappear with everything you put inside them.

stepped into the dimly lit basement, the air thick with tension. The smell of sweat and fear hung heavy, mingling with the scent of disinfectant.

My eyes adjusted slowly, and i made out kade's figure, tired to a chair in the center of the room. His face was a mess of bruises and cuts, a testament to the rough handling he'd received.
Two of my trusted men, Victor and Marcus, shood guard, their faces expressionless. They nodded at me as I approached.

"Any problems?" I asked, my voice low.

Victor shook his head. "He's been quiet, sir."

I turned my attention to kade, my eyes locking onto his. His gaze was defiant, but i could see the fear lurking beneath. He knew he was in a precarious situation.

I walked closer, my footsteps echoing off the walls. Kade's eyes followed me, wary, as I reached out to touch his face. He flinched, but i just traded the edge of his jaw, my fingers gentle.

"Kade, kade, kade," I whispered, my voice soft. "You're in a lot of trouble. But i can make it go away. All you have to do is tell me the truth."

Kade's eyes flashed with anger, but i could see the fear took hold. He knew he was beaten.

"What do you want to know? " He spat, his voice barely above a whisper.

I learned closer, my face inches from his. "Everything."

Suddenly he starts laughing, kade's laughter echoed through the basement, a cold, mirthless sound. Then his eyes met mine "fuck you"

I smiled, a cold, calculated smile. "That's not the answer I was looking for, kade," I said, my voice dripping with menace. "But it's...... enlightening. You see, I thought you might try to defy me, to cling to your pride. But now, I see the fear in your eyes. And that's what I'll use to break you."

Kade's laughter died, replaced by a snarl. "You'll never break me," He spat, but doubt crept in.

"Oh, but i will," I whispered, my breath caressing his ear. "I'll break you, and I'll make you beg for mercy. And when you do, I'll show you none."

Victor and Marcus moved closer, their eyes fixed on kade with an unnerving intensity. Kade's gaze darted between them, his eyes wide with fear.

"You see, kade, you made a mistake," I continued, my voice relentless. "You thought you could deceive me, betray me. But now, you'll pay the price."

Kade's face twisted in a snarl, but i could see the fear eating away at him. He knew he was beaten. And i think I had him right where I wanted him.

"Let's start again," I whispered, my eyes locked on his. "Tell me everything. And maybe, just maybe, I'll let you live".

Kades eyes blazed with a fierce defiance, the spark of resistance burning bright amidst the darkness of his despair. For a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of surrender, a flicker of fear that threatened to consume him whole. But then, like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, determination ignited within him, casting a fiery glow across his battered face.

"Kill me,Mr. Sean Fucking Xiao," Kade spat, his voice dripping with venom, his words laced with a deadly clam. "But I'll take my secrets to the grave. You'll never know the truth. Never."

The air seemed to vibrate with tension as kade's gaze locked onto mine, his eyes burning with unyielding resolve. I could feel the weight of his conviction, the unshakeable certainly that he would never betray his secrets, no matter the cost.

I raised my gun, the cold metal pressed against Kade's temple. Our eyes locked in a final, fatal stare. His gaze burned with defiance, but mine was a void, an abyss of emotionless detachment.

"As you wish, " I whispered, my voice devoid of empathy or remorse.

The gunshot shattered the silence, a deafening crack that echoed through the basement.

Kade's body slumped, his head lolling to one side, his eyes frozen in a permanent stare.
I handed the gun to Marcus, my movements mechanical, devoid of emotions. "Clear the mess," I instructed, my voice flat and detached.

Without a glance back, I turned and walked away, leaving behind a trial of destruction and death. The darkness swallowed me whole, a fitting shroud for the emptiness within.

I stood in the bathroom, washing the blood from my hands with a sense of detachment. It was just another day, another necessary elimination. Kade's death was merely a checkbox on my list, a problem solved.

As I cleaned my face and hair, I felt a twinge of satisfaction. It was a feeling I'd grown accustomed to over the years, a reminder that I was the one in control.

I called out to Victor, my voice firm. "Bring me a new suit. Black. And a fresh shirt. I have a meeting to attend."

Victor nodded, his expression neutral. He knew better than to show any emotion around me.

I changed quickly, the familiar routine a comforting ritual. As I adjusted my tie, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My eyes seemed to gleam with a hint of triumph, my expression hard and unyielding.

I made my way back to my office, the soft hum of the air conditioning enveloping me like a shroud. Everything was business as usual.

Just then, my phone pierced the silence, shrill and insistent. I pulled it out, my eyes narrowing as I saw Jackson's name on the screen. I answered, my voice curt. "Sean."

"Sean, it's Jackson. I left the file on your desk. It's everything we need to take down kade," Jackson's voice was tight with urgency.

I felt a flicker of surprise, followed by a wave of relief. It was too late now, but..... "Thanks, Jackson. I'll be there soon."

I hung up, my gaze drifting back to the spot where kade's body lay. A grim smile twisted my lips. Too little, too late. But soon, I'd unleash hell on those who'd crossed me
