_Emma's POV_

I wrapped my arms around Sean, trying to comfort him as he crumpled to the ground. His anguish was palpable, and I felt helpless, torn between compassion and crippling guilt.

"Why did it have to end like this?" Sean sobbed, his voice tearing at my heart.

I held him close, my own eyes welling up with tears. "He's at peace, Sean," I whispered, repeating the words I'd told myself since Grandma passed away.

But the words felt hollow now, echoing with the weight of my secrets. I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd contributed to Yibo's departure. If only I hadn't shared Grandma's stories, hadn't encouraged Sean to use the pendant... maybe Yibo would still be here.

Regret suffocated me, its grip tightening with every passing moment. I felt like I'd led Sean down a path of false hope, exploiting his desperation.

As Sean's tears soaked into my shirt, I couldn't help but wonder: Had I been selfish, using Grandma's research to ease my own grief? Had I unknowingly sealed Yibo's fate?

As I leaned in to console Sean again, a sudden radiance enveloped us. The pendant, still clutched in Sean's hand, glowed with an intense blue light. It was too bright to bear, and I instinctively closed my eyes.

When I opened them again, my heart skipped a beat.

Beside us stood a heavenly beauty, bathed in the soft, ethereal glow. His eyes, filled with love, care, and sadness, were fixed on Sean.

My mind raced: Could it be Yibo? Or was I seeing things?

Sean, lost in his grief, didn't notice. His eyes remained closed, tears streaming down his face.

"Sean," I whispered, "sean"

_Yibo's POV_

I hovered between realms, torn between the afterlife's call and my love for Sean. The pendant's power, still resonating within me, guided me back.

As I materialized beside Sean and Emma, my heart swelled. Sean's anguish pierced me, and I yearned to comfort him.

My gaze locked onto Sean's. "Sean" I whisper, and I saw the depth of his sorrow. His eyes, red-rimmed and swollen, sparkled with hope as he whispered my name.

"Yibo?" Sean's voice cracked, his face contorted in a mix of joy and pain.

I smiled, trying to reassure him. My voice, barely above a whisper, carried the weight of my emotions.

"I'm here, Sean. I'm back."

Sean's hand, still clutching the pendant, trembled. I reached out, my fingers intertwining with his.

Emma's eyes widened, her face etched with wonder and confusion.

"Yibo, how...?" she trailed off.

I didn't answer, my focus solely on Sean.

"My love," I whispered, "I'm sorry. I didn't want to leave you."

Sean's eyes overflowed, tears streaming down his face.

"Yibo, don't leave me again. Please."

My heart shattered at his words. I'd never willingly leave him.

"I won't, Sean. I promise."

As I spoke, the pendant's glow enveloped us, its power solidifying our bond.

As I held Sean's hand, the warmth of his touch filled me. I never thought I'd experience this again.

"My love," Sean whispered, his voice trembling. "I thought I lost you forever."

I smiled, my eyes locking onto his. "You'll never lose me, Sean. I promise."

Sean's lips curled into a soft smile, and he leaned in. Our lips met in a tender, desperate kiss.

Emma's gentle voice broke the spell. "Yibo, how did you come back?"

I pulled back, my gaze still on Sean. "The pendant," I began. "Its power... it guided me home."

Sean's eyes sparkled. "You're really back?"

I nodded. "I am."

Emma stepped forward, her eyes shining. "This means... the pendant worked."

I nodded. "It did more than that. It showed me the way back to Sean."

Sean's hand tightened around mine. "You're not going anywhere, right?"

I smiled. "Nowhere without you, Sean."

As we shared another tender kiss, the pendant's glow enveloped us, sealing our love forever.

"Some other time," Rain said to summer and left.
Since that day, every year, summer dries up all the rivers just to meet the Rain, again.
