RILEYS POV
"i'm going out to practice, i gotta get prepared for my game." lynn yells throughout the house.
she turns and looks at me with her green eyes, "wanna come with?"
"yeah sure," my lips curling into a smile, still thinking about my conversation with luna.
i follow her lead outside. for seven pm it's still pretty light outside.
"there's some lawn chairs over there i can grab ya' one," lynn says looking over at me while still walking towards her bat.
"no worries i can grab it," i state rocking on the heels of my feet, it's something i do when i get nervous, why i'm nervous right now i don't know.
i walk towards the chairs she pointed at, i wrap my hands around the arms of the chair lifting, jesus christ it's heavy. im carrying it, barley, earning a raspy chuckle from the girl, "here i got it."
she sets off in the direction of the chairs and me, she takes it from my hands and grabs it with ease, okay she's strong of course, but those motherfuckers are heavy, and she just picks them up with no effort? she could probably squash me like a bug.
"thanks," i mutter watching the red clothed girl place it down, giving me a nod in response as i plant myself in the chair.
"you ever play?" she said to me, raising one eyebrow obviously trying to make small talk.
i shake my head no, "i mean when i was little, but recently? not at all." my leg bouncing up and down.
"wanna try?" lynn gives me a smile causing her dimples to show, holding the bat towards me.
my hands push myself off the chair as my legs walk towards her, "sure, why not? you gotta promise you won't laugh if i fail horribly."
"no promises monroe." she shrugs her shoulders, trying to contain the smile on her face.
i take the bat from her hands lining it up with the ball now sitting on top of the tee, feeling a pair of eyes on me.
i swing the bat at the ball, missing it by maybe an inch, the girl next to me starts busting out laughing, i turn around and face her my face red of embarrassment, "not everyone can be as good as the lynn loud." she smiles at me, "don't worry we'll work on it."
i nod my head, internally freaking out, we'll work on it? that means she does want to hang out with me more. boom riley monroe made a new friend her first day.
