THIRD PERSON POV

RILEY AND LYNN made their way through town, on foot. the dark haired girl nervously complaining about how much trouble they'd get in.

"come onnnn," the jock groaned, turning her head around slightly to look at her, "i will totally take the blame for you."

"you're such a liar," riley grinned, following after the girl anyways. they'd only been walking maybe ten minutes but it felt like forever.

"so as your personal tour guide, i'm gonna bring you to the best places royal woods has to offer," lynn speaks, suddenly loosing the rasp in her voice, almost like a sports announcer. royal woods wasn't the biggest town, but it sure was something.

"in a few minutes we'll pass by 'flips food and fuel'! the best place to get a flippee." the girl announces, walking closely in front of the girl.

"a what?"

"basically a slurpee, but he calls them flippee's, they have the best flavors." lynn explains, her voice going back to the regular raspiness.

riley couldn't help but smile at the silliness, "i like your normal voice better."

lynn could feel her lips curve into a slight smile, no one has ever said anything nice about her voice, besides her siblings. it was always 'too deep' or 'too masculine'.

"thanks, riles," riley only humming in response, catching up to lynn, now walking beside her. as they walk their hands slightly rub against one another's. riley immediately pulling her hand away, tucking it behind her back.

the two walked in silence, but it wasn't an awkward silence, it was just a comforting silence. just the two of them, walking side by side. riley thought everything was going so easy.

riley ultimately broke the silence, as she couldn't stay quiet for long, "thank you, for being my friend."

"of course, you're pretty awesome i guess," lynn smiles, looking slightly down at the girl. if she was being honest, lynn never thought they'd be as close as they are. they don't seem like the type to get along.

riley was soft spoken and played by the rules, whereas lynn was a daredevil and didn't care about authority. but that's what made them work so well, they balanced eachother out.

"if we get in trouble, i'm murdering you lynn," riley sighs, looking at the uneven sidewalk. stealing a few glances at lynn every now and again.

"oh come on! live a little," the girl groans, turning around stopping in her tracks. "we are not gonna get into trouble, it was last period we'll be fine."
