Logan stood in the shower, washing the layers of dirt and sweat off of himself. The water ran hot over his body, trickling down into the drain. The scent of Wade's soap filled his lungs, a relief from the metallic smell of blood. After a few minutes, Logan shut the water off. He lifted a towel that was hanging on the wall and began drying himself off. His hands moved to a pair of clothes that Wade had laid out for him. He pulled the shirt over his head, which hugged his torso tightly. He tugged Wade's pants on, too, which fit a bit better.
"You ready yet?" Wade called out from the bedroom.
Logan opened the door to the bedroom, meeting Wade.
"Sure...you've got a car?"
And Wade froze, realizing that the only mode of transportation they had was the bloodied and beat Honda Odyssey.
"Well...- yeah. Come on, let's go."
Logan pulled on an old pair of Wade's shoes, and off they went.
Wade walked with Logan, making his way to the stairwell. Their footsteps sent loud echoes through the concrete spirals. Logan followed Wade closely, and they reached the ground floor to find the car.
After a few minutes, they reached the Odyssey. Wade unlocked the car and got in the driver's seat, waiting for Logan. He sat next to Wade, making a face at the stench of rotting blood.
The first time they had driven the Honda Odyssey, Logan had gotten mad at Wade and they ended up in a fight. Things got heated quickly, Wade ended up tied up in the seatbelts, and, well, you can infer the rest. Logan hadn't addressed the incident since, and Wade was too nervous to ask for once in his life. He was pretty sure that it hadn't actually meant anything to Logan, but he couldn't be sure. Logan had hated Wade in that moment, after all.
The car sputtered to life. It lacked a sunroof and some windows because of them, sure, but it would still get them to the mall and back.
The stench of rotting blood was eventually lost as the two adjusted to it. Wade backed the car out of the parking space and turned onto the road.
"So...what kind of clothes are we looking for?" Wade questioned.
"I'm not picky."
Wade nodded, turning onto an exit. The radio in the car was quietly humming music, and he drummed along on the steering wheel. He soon pulled the car into a parking lot in front of their area's main shopping center.
"Alright, ready peanut?"
"Stop calling me that..." Logan said gruffly. He got out of the car, but Wade could've sworn he saw him smile for a moment.
His heart fluttered for a second. Wade couldn't lie- he really did like Logan. Maybe if he made a move-? No. It was too early in the trip, maybe some other time.
Logan caught onto Wade, seeing he was stuck in thought.
"What's wrong, bub?"
Wade looked up at him, almost startled.
"Oh-! Nothing, just zoned out for a moment there, haha..."
Logan shrugged. If Wade wasn't going to say anything, he wasn't about to try and force him. He knew from personal experience that it made everything worse to pry.
Then Logan was trapped in thought, wondering what was going on with Wade. And Wade was looking down, not paying attention to where he was walking. They both brushed hands, sending a wave of heat up Wade's body. Logan looked away from him, taking a shaky step away.
Logan didn't know what to think about Wade. On one hand, Wade was an ass that enjoyed annoying the life out of anyone within earshot. On the other hand, Logan swore he could listen to him all day. Wade seemed to understand Logan, despite not knowing him completely yet. The two fought a lot, sure, but it was all for fun and to let pent up frustration out.
What neither of them could deny was that they felt understood with each other.
Wade broke the silence.
"Oops- sorry..."
Logan paused, unsure of what to do. The two met each other's eyes for a moment, and stopped walking. It was about the least romantic spot, in the middle of a parking lot, but Wade was desperate for answers.
"Lo...can I ask you something...?"
Logan nodded, wondering if Wade was being genuine or about to start spewing total bullshit.
"I really need answers, okay...?" Wade started. He hoped that Logan would catch on.
Logan wasn't quite sure what Wade was getting at. Was he referring to the other night in the Odyssey? If he wasn't, he couldn't just bring something like that up. He decided to play it safe.
"Answers to what?"
To this, Wade decided he needed to change the topic. Logan wasn't on the same page, was he? The incident with Logan was on his mind nonstop, but did Logan even care about that? It was obviously not on his mind...
"Never mind,- I forgot."
Wade began to walk again, and Logan followed suit. He was left wondering what Wade could've been referring to. Was it the incident in the Odyssey?
