Wade didn't miss a beat; he immediately returned the kiss. He grabbed a fistful of Logan's shirt by the collar, tangling the other hand in his hair. After a moment, Wade started to pull back to catch his breath. Logan grabbed him by the throat, not wanting him to let go just yet. Wade, much to his surprise, leaned firmly into his hand.
Logan was thrown off by this, nervously pulling back. He didn't want to admit to anybody, especially himself, that he liked Wade. In fact, he constantly complained and yelled at Wade over his behaviors. The truth was that Wade was becoming his anchor so quickly that it scared him. He'd lost everything before Wade had taken him in, and he was terrified that he would lose Wade, too. He knew that no matter what happened, that Wade(despite being such an asshole at times) wouldn't let anything serious happen to him. It shouldn't have mattered, since he was technically always protected by his regenerative abilities, but it instilled a certain feeling of safety in him.
"Lo? You there?" Wade waved his hand in front of Logan's eyes, starting to get concerned. "You alright?"
Logan met his eyes, quickly shaking his head.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
He turned forward again in his seat, leaving Wade completely confused.
"Damnit..." muttered Wade. He turned to Logan, a mix of questioning and concern on his face. "Did I do something?"
He wants the mask back on, doesn't he?
Wade started to hesitate now, too. This is what had kept them at bay from confessing for so long. Wade couldn't come to believe that someone could accept him for what he looked like anymore, and Logan was too scared to let himself get attached to Wade.
"Sorry, bub." Logan started to apologize to Wade.
"No- I..." Wade stopped talking, starting to drive home. His hand moved absentmindedly to the skin on his face, tracing over the rough, uneven tissue. Logan saw this and started to feel guilty. He knew exactly what was going through Wade's head.

Wade pulled up to a parking space and turned the car off.
"Alright, Grumpy. Get out." Wade told Logan.
Logan grunted in a joking sense of annoyance, getting out of the car.
The two walked to the back of the car, each carrying part of the guilt for ruining the earlier moment. Logan grabbed the bags, taking them with him to their room.
That was a weird thought...their room.
Wade unlocked the apartment, letting Logan in with him. It was already getting late, so they both needed to get ready for bed. With a click, Logan flipped the light on in their room. Blind Al's TV rang through the house, playing some sort of game show.
Logan quietly took his clothes from the bag, picking out a pair of sweatpants and his signature white top from the bag. He walked to the bathroom, leaving Wade to get changed in the bedroom.
Logan started to get dressed. As he did, a wave of frustration swept through his body. Why couldn't he just accept that he needed Wade? It was clear to him: Wade kept him sane, cared for him, and could always talk him down when he was having trouble. But why was he still unable to let his guard down? He had nothing to lose-Wade couldn't die. That much had become obvious after the two's never ending fights.

Wade was already in bed waiting for Logan. He had been, at least, before he fell asleep. Logan saw him and smiled slightly, admiring the peaceful look on his face. He shut the bathroom door and turned off the lights as quietly as he could. As he got in bed, though, Wade woke up.
"Oh...hey, honey badger..." Wade spoke sleepily. His voice was slightly rougher than usual after waking up.
"Go back to sleep." Logan whispered coldly.
Wade groaned, disappointed. The bed creaked as Logan untucked the covers and got in next to him. A few moments passed of complete silence.
"Hey, peanut?"
"Hm?" Logan grumbled in response.
"I know I'm not usually serious about stuff- but right now... I'm sorry about earlier."
Logan turned over toward Wade, waking up a bit more.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not really sure what happened there. I mean one second everything was fine, and then the next-"
Logan wrapped his arms around Wade and held him tightly.
Wade felt nothing but confused at first. Hadn't he pulled away earlier? Was it because the lights were off now that he was willing to stay? About a million reasons made the moment confusing, but Wade quieted them down to feel the comfort in Logan's arms.
Wade put his hand on Logan's and shut his eyes.
