Returning home, Ace has a bounce in his steps and my heart swoons realizing he's letting loose and being himself more. I go over to the kitchen to put away the groceries and his new stuff. But first, I pull out my phone and quickly order his furnitures, I also need to clean up the other room to create a baby proofed space. I don't think a big boy room will be safe for when he slips further.
"Baby, do you want something to eat?" I call over my shoulder while putting his bottles and cups in the boiling water for sanitization. "Acey?" I call when I hear no reply from his end.
When I still don't get a reply, I turn the stove off and walk over to the living room to see a heart-breaking sight. Ace sitting on a puddle of his pee while crying behind his hands.
"Hey hey, it's okay, baby. Accidents happen." I coo and crouch in front of him. "Come on, mama will clean it up for you. Okay? Don't cry, please. Come on, baby. Let's get up and get cleaned." I touch his arm and he scoots away, face red and blotchy as he sobs quietly, shaking his head.
"Nu! I bad! I bad! Diwty! No gud!" He yells, breaking my heart more. His panic is pushing him into slipping more.
"Hey, none of that. Calm down!" I raise my tone a little and he stops squirming. "Listen, baby. It's okay to have accidents. Mama's right here to take care of you, okay? You're not a bad boy. You're my good boy, remember?"
He sniffles but nods. I sigh and hold his hands, helping him stand up. His face is red, probably from embarrassment as I pull his jeans down as well as his boxers and wipe him dry. He steps out of the puddle.
"Go and wait for me in the washroom. Do not do anything on your own. Wait for mama." I instruct. He nods and slowly goes to the washroom.
I put his soaked jeans and boxers in the washing machine then wipe the floor clean with scented detergent, then go to the washroom to clean him up as well. I smile seeing him quietly standing in the middle of the washroom like a good boy.
"Such a good boy. I'm so proud of you." I compliment and he beams.
"T'ank you, mama." My heart is seconds away from melting.
"You're welcome, precious."
I remove his shirt and get him to stand in the tub, so I can shower his whole body.
"Mama, bath." He looks up at me.
I pout sadly. "Not now, baby. After all of your stuff is here and we have arranged your room, we'll have bubble baths with your new toys." I promise and his eyes sparkle.
"'Ess!" I grin and continue to wash him. When he's cleaned up, I put a towel around his body and pick him up, carrying him up to our room to change him into something more comfortable.
I haven't shopped for his clothes yet, so I pick out my comfiest and softest oversized shirt and a pair of his shorts. I grab a pull-up and as soon as his eyes land on it, his face pales.
"I-I don't need that! Thea, no!"
I put on my stern expression and cross my arms over my chest. So he knows I mean business.
"Do you want to have another accident?"
He shakes his head.
"Then you need to put it on. All the Littles do."
He looks on the brink of another melt down as I push him on the bed to lay down and start powdering up his bottom.
"It's okay, Acey. You can let go and let me take care of you." I softly speak. "It will not even show through your clothes."
"I'm such a burden."
I lightly slap at his thigh at that and he winces.
"Don't ever say that again." I warn.
