The next morning, I feel something or rather someone pressing onto me when my eyes flutter open. Looking down, I'm met with the most adorable sight of my baby snuggling up to me with his arms around my torso and head on my chest.
Wait, how did he get here?
Anyway, I'm gonna enjoy this moment now. So I wrap my arms around him and pull him closer to me, kissing his forehead as a contented hum esacapes my lips.
I smile when Ace also hums along, brushing his nose against my collarbone.
"Good morning, baby." I whisper in his ear.
"Mama." Is his small reply. Chuckling, I begin to card my fingers through his hair, leaving small kisses here and there on his face as he takes time to wake up.
Moments like these are the ones I cherish the most, they fill my heart with warmth, and my day's power's all boosted.
"Baby, I have a meeting today. I'll be home, but in my office." I start in our sacred hushed tone, stroking his back. "How about I call Sam and you can have a playdate with Jia in the meantime, does that sound fun?"
His eyes shot open at that and lips form a pout, big eyes stare at me like I just signed his adoption forms.
"Nu!" He declares.
"But why?" I honestly puzzle. "I thought you had a great time with her yesterday at the park?"
"Ha'e hew."
"Ace." I call him sternly, but he refuses to meet my gaze now. "It's not nice to hate someone without any reason. Tell mama what's wrong? Did something happen? I've noticed your sour mood since we got back from the park. Talk to me."
Cupping his chin, I tilt his head up and the sadness shadowing over his face hurts my heart.
"I won't be mad, I promise. Whatever it is." I urge, running my thumb over his chin and lips.
His arms slightly tighten around me as he looks up and I smile encouragingly.
"No' wike that mama wike hew. Mama only fow Acey. Nu hew."
I am flabbergasted at his confession, so this is what was going on since last night. Oh my God, this little bean's butt is all burning in jealousy because he thinks his mama likes Jia more than him?
God, whay should I do? Laugh, coo, or assure him?
"Baby, you should've talked to mama earlier, then I could've told you that it's nothing like that. I will never be anyone else's mama except Ace's. You're my baby boy and I belong to you only, you hear me?"
The questions and insecurities from earlier wash away from his little face, and he beams with a wide grin spread across his lips.
"Es! My mama!" He hugs me tight, pressing a sloppy kiss on my cheek as I laugh, hugging his waist and rolling us on the bed.
He erupts in giggles as I continue to roll us around then eventually stop since we have to get out of the bed and start our day.

"Sam and Jia will be here soon. Be on your best behavior and do not bother Sam too much, okay?"
"Yea." He replies monotonously, coloring on his book while lying on his stomach in the living room, inside his playpen.
"Mama will be right up in her office, knock only if it's an emergency." I remind.
"Mn." He doesn't look up, kicking his feet and immersed in his drawing world.
