WRITER'S POV

Resentful, overprotective, and gullible are the words that best describe Ishita.

Overprotective of her friends and boyfriend or really anyone with whom she's close. She can barely stand them talking, much less spending time, with someone else.

And gullible? She's always been that, which has always resulted in her getting her expectations and trust shattered over and over again, leaving her resentful—yet not aggressive or hateful—and overprotective of her confidants, in whom she confides whenever she can no longer bear her emotions alone or wants to have a good time.

But does it truly matter all that much? She might not care, but at least her friends do. That's all she cares about. For this exact reason, they periodically scold and reprimand her.

Enough about her not-even-close-to-perfect character. Let's talk about her boyfriend, who is in his late teens.

In her eyes, he is the image of absolute perfection, with his drop-dead gorgeous body with abs chiseled to perfection and a face that radiates handsomeness, his hazel—closer to brown—eyes that seem to have a glint of mischief, which are quite endearing with a sweet, adorable smile that takes the onlookers' breaths away.

Her best friends, too, approve of the pretty boy since they've talked to him and assessed him multiple times, but they still can't help but worry for Ishita when she tells them of the little fights and disagreements she has with him over the littlest things. Even then, she can't bear to find faults within him.

As perfect as he might seem to her, he, too, is just a human after all. He, too, occasionally lies to her to get her attention and worry. He, too, ends up shouting at her when he's mad. He, too, gets jealous a little too often. He, too, sometimes makes unbelievable excuses. He, too, is often unable to give her enough time.

So, not that perfect after all.

But she thinks he's perfect, and hence so should you. She was the one who quoted this, not me. It's quite hard for her to believe she scored a complete package despite being the most average brown girl on the face of the earth, she says.

But seriously though, she seems madly in love, doesn't she? Or maybe it's just obsession. After all, there's only a hazy line between love and obsession.

I'll leave it to you to ponder on and decide.

She was hurt plenty of times by her exes, who initially seemed rather nice and good-natured until they revealed their true colors. Those damn octopuses! I hope they never find a nice partner to date in the future.

She lost her talkative and cheerful nature for quite some time... until she started talking to him. And if he turns out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing... I don't think she'd be able to cope with that.

Now you might understand some of her besties' worry for her and their ever-skeptical attitude regarding the apparent good nature of even her current boyfriend, who they think seems nice enough and is—hopefully—loyal to her.
