WRITER'S POV
A 15-year-old home-alone girl giggling like an idiot at a glowing rectangle—that's what you'd see from the perspective of the little stray cat lying by the girl's feet after the cat had stuffed its belly with a small bowl of milk.
From an outsider's viewpoint, you'd see a phone with an ensemble (((a group of items viewed as a whole rather than individually))) of strangely jumbled words that would perhaps not make sense to someone who didn't know how to read Hindi written in English alphabets, with the bare minimum vowels and absolutely zero punctuations.
But from the girl's vantage (((a place or position affording a good view of something))) point, you'd see things as they are. The girl was texting her new boyfriend or—better yet—lover, in more direct words, who—to her—is the man of her dreams with the perfect looks and endearing conduct (((the manner in which a person behaves, especially in a particular place or situation))); a complete package if you ask her. A 180-degree change from her exes, whom she always fought with, cried to her friends about, and finally broke up with just a few days ago. Good riddance!
This perfect pretty boy is why she's feeling ecstatic enough to behave like a total dunce (((a person who is slow at learning))) from the standpoint of anyone else.
Maybe—just maybe—she's a fool. Strong feelings for someone do this to people sometimes... or at least that seems true in her case.
We'll come to how they got together later. But, I'll give you a brief overview of her life.
The girl—Ishita Heer—is the elder of two sisters. Being the eldest daughter of her average Indian parents, her life isn't too difficult as long as her little sister doesn't get her into trouble... Let's not go into that for now.
Her school life isn't half bad either. She might be mediocre in her studies, but her social skills—to some extent—are top-notch. She talks to almost everyone (although not in a friendly manner sometimes). Besides, why should she care? She has her friends; more importantly, her best friends to whom she can rant all her feelings and thoughts.
Her life seems pretty nice so far. Unfortunately, this is where the good part ends. She has terrible taste in guys (taking into account her mean monkey-like and donkey-like exes).
She has sky-high expectations, which, when broken, shatter her heart into a gazillion pieces. She trusts too easily with her whole heart, which again ends up hurting her. This isn't even the beginning of all the things that work against her in the long run, but if we started to make a list, then the entire book would be filled to the brim with just such things.
Let's get back to Ishita, who has a toothy grin on her face while talking to him.
Him.
Who, other than Waris, could it be?
Waris Rana.
The one she's in a long-distance relationship with. They met online and—yes—are currently dating online, and will be for as long as there are no misunderstandings or they don't end up breaking each other's hearts/trust.
