WRITER'S POV

June 18

She had opened his profile and kept scrolling to the end of his posts, lingering on the ones with his selfies.

Her obsession had grown to the point where, unsurprisingly, although unknowingly, she was stalking him online.

She touched a trembling finger on his face on-screen.

Ah... so pretty, she mused aloud.

She found him captivatingly handsome. But who could blame her? He was, in fact, undeniably attractive - de facto eye candy. Even her sister, who was secretly watching, could vouch for that.

Her fascination with his good looks grew stronger every day, to the point where she started-albeit reluctantly-stalking him online. She knew it was wrong, but she couldn't stop herself. She was smitten by his appearance, and this obsession continued for quite a few days.

July 20

He messaged her.

The conversation started casually, with small talk about the most random things - from the weather in their respective areas to how annoying some teachers could be. The mundane nature of their conversation didn't bother her, though. She found comfort in its simplicity.

Having just gone through the heartbreak of a recent breakup (July 12), she was in need of a distraction, and he provided exactly that. Every text from him felt like a balm to her wounded heart. She felt as if she could lay her soul bare in front of him, and without even realizing it, she started doing just that. There was a sense of ease in their interactions that she hadn't felt in a long time.

But despite their growing connection, she couldn't completely let go of her habit of stalking his account. It had become a part of her routine, a way to feel closer to him even when they weren't talking.

July 25

Their conversations had become a regular part of her day. They texted back and forth like old friends, their messages flowing naturally. That day, as they were chatting, she decided to take a playful risk. With a mix of half-joking and half-serious intent, she texted him, asking if he'd like to try dating.

She didn't expect much; it was more of a lighthearted attempt to gauge his interest. But to her surprise, he agreed.

The moment his reply came through, she felt a rush of excitement. In her head, she was spinning around with joy, barely able to contain the happiness bubbling up inside her. But she had to keep her composure, especially in front of her parents, who would never understand.

How surprising.~ He agreed.

In her head, she was spinning round and round with happiness, but she couldn't show it in front of her parents, or she'd be done for.

Slowly but surely, they were getting closer and closer to each other to the point where she would think about him all day - the way his eyes curved up when he smiled, how shy he'd become when they conversed on video calls. Funnily enough, most of the time on video calls, she'd spend out of the camera's range so she could pick out a good filter, while he'd always pick a red filter, which would sometimes make him look as if he was blushing eternally.
