Kayla wakes up the next morning, her thoughts still swirling with the conversation she'd had with Doreen and Francis the night before. The reality of her situation weighs heavily on her, and she knows she needs to take action. Still, the thought of confronting her manager and going to HR leaves her feeling anxious and scared. She gets out of bed and heads to the kitchen to make herself a cup of coffee, trying to steady her nerves. As she waits for the coffee to brew, her mind races with different scenarios, wondering how to handle the whole ordeal.Kayla pours her cup of coffee, the hot liquid providing a small comfort in the pit of her stomach. As she sips it, her phone buzzes with a text message notification. It's from Doreen.Kayla sets her coffee down and picks up her phone to read the message.
"Hey, how you doing this morning? Did you get any sleep last night?"

She picks up her phone and responds, "Not really. I spent most of the night tossing and turning, trying to figure out what to do about this whole mess."Doreen's reply comes in a moment later.
"I’m sorry to hear that. It’s a tough situation, but you’re not alone in this. We’re here for you, every step of the way."

Kayla nods to herself, grateful for her friends’ support, but the worry still gnaws at her.Kayla finishes her coffee and sets the empty mug in the sink, trying to shake off her lingering anxiety. But as she goes about her morning routine, her mind keeps returning to the problem at hand. As she gets dressed, she makes up her mind. She's going to do something about this.

With newfound determination, she grabs her phone and dials a number.Kayla waits anxiously as the phone rings, her heart pounding in her chest. After a few moments, a friendly voice comes on the line.
“Hello, HR department, this is Jessica speaking. How may I help you today?”Kayla decides that she wants to go to the HR department in person instead of calling. She hangs up the phone and heads out of her apartment, resolute in her decision.
As she walks to the company headquarters, her mind races with what she'll say, how she'll explain everything. But the anxiety also starts to build inside her. She's never had to confront anyone like this before, and the thought of standing up to her manager is intimidating.Kayla arrives at the company headquarters, her palms feeling sweatier with each step. The building looms over her, its polished exterior a reminder of the stakes at hand. She takes a deep breath and walks in, her footsteps echoing in the entryway. Lucas, who works in the same company, notices Kayla's nervousness as she approaches the HR department. As they make eye contact, he calls out to her.
"Hey, Kayla, is everything okay? You look pretty anxious.Lucas approaches Kayla, a look of concern on his face, but also understanding.
"Is it about the situation with your manager? Look, I know what's happening, and it needs to be addressed."Lucas said"Yeah...it's just been getting worse. I'm actually on my way to talk to HR about it, but I'm feeling really nervous." Replies Kayla.Lucas puts a comforting hand on Kayla's shoulder. "Hey, don't be. You're doing the right thing. It's important to stand up for yourself and address this issue. HR is there to handle situations like this."Kayla nods, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. She's glad to have someone who understands and validates her decision to talk to HR.
"Thanks, Lucas. But I'm just worried about what's going to happen. What if they don't believe me? Or what if it makes things worse?"Lucas reassures Kayla, "Hey, HR is there to investigate these situations objectively. They'll listen to your side of the story and get to the bottom of it. Just be honest and clear about what's happening. They'll take it seriously."Kayla nods, feeling a little more confident now. "Okay, I'll do my best. Thanks, Lucas. Wish me luck."
She gives him a grateful smile before turning and heading towards the HR department.Kayla nervously walks down the hallway towards the HR office, her heart pounding in her chest. As she approaches the door, she takes one more deep breath for courage. Then, she knocks on the door. After a moment, a voice calls out from inside the HR office. "Come in!"
Kayla hesitates for a moment, but then nods to herself and grips the doorknob, pushing open the door.
