Marcello's brother, Alex, suggests finding dirt on Kayla, but Marcello hesitates. He doesn't want to resort to underhanded methods. "No," Marcello says firmly. "I don't want to use dirty tricks against her. She got the better of me this time, but that doesn't mean I have to stoop to her level." Even though he's annoyed, Marcello has some pride left.Alex, sensing his brother's hesitation, tries to convince him. "Come on, Marcello. This is the perfect chance to show her who's boss. Why are you backing down now?"
Marcello shakes his head. "No, I'm not resorting to underhanded methods," he repeats firmly. "Besides, Kayla is just a girl I went to high school with. It's not worth my time or effort to dig up dirt on her."

Next day
Lucas walks into the office and heads to his desk, only to be immediately approached by Daniel.
"Hey Lucas," Daniel says. "Have you seen Kayla today?"
Lucas sighs, irritated by the question. "No, I haven't seen her," he replies curtly.Kayla walks into the office, her confidence still riding high from her triumph over Marcello. She spots Lucas at his desk and tries to greet him, but he responds coolly, leaving her feeling uneasy. Before she can question him further, Daniel appears, looking distressed.
"Kayla!" he exclaims. "Thank goodness you're here. I need your help, it's urgent."As Kayla approaches Lucas, she smiles warmly and says, "Hey Lucas, how are you doing?"
Lucas looks up from his work, his expression cool and distant. "I'm busy," he replies curtly. "What do you want?"Kayla is taken aback by Lucas's brusqueness, not expecting such a cold response. "I just wanted to say hi," she says, trying to hide her surprise. "Is everything okay?"
Lucas sighs and rubs his temples, clearly frustrated. "Everything's fine. I just have a lot of work to do."Kayla fidgets awkwardly, feeling unwelcome. "Well, I won't disturb you any further then," she mutters.
Just then, Daniel comes rushing over, clearly in a state of panic. "Kayla, thank goodness you're here," he says, panting slightly. "I really need your help with something... it's an emergency".
"Kayla, I need your help," he says urgently. "I think I saw you talking to Mike alone earlier. Are you two... seeing each other?"
Kayla is puzzled by his question. "No, Daniel, you're overthinking it. Mike and I are just friends. We were just having a friendly chat."
Daniel nods, but his worry doesn't subside. "I know, but I can't help but think Sarah has feelings for him."Kayla understands Daniel's concern but tries to soothe him.
"Daniel, I think you're just overthinking things," she reassures him. "Just because Sarah was friendly with Mike doesn't necessarily mean she likes him. They might just be friends too."
Daniel is still unconvinced, doubt clouding his face. "But I saw the way they were talking... I just know there's something more going on.Kayla struggles to convince Daniel that he's seeing things that aren't there.
"Daniel, you're jumping to conclusions," she says firmly. "There's no evidence that Sarah and Mike are anything more than friends. You're just making yourself anxious over nothing."
Daniel lets out a frustrated sigh. "But I have a hunch..." he mutters, still not convinced.As Daniel and Kayla continue their conversation, Lucas steals glances at them from his cubicle, his annoyance and jealousy growing with every passing moment. He can't help but feel envious of the interaction between Kayla and Daniel, the girl he secretly desires.
Every time Lucas looks away, Kayla's eyes dart to him, silently questioning why he is acting so distant and cold towards her.Kayla had just finished planning to get Daniel to ask Sarah out in private when it's time for lunch. She goes to her cubicle working but her minds keeps drifting to Lucas irritatingly so because she can't think of what she did wrong to make him so angry at her. After a while it's lunch time and she promised Emily she would join her and rest so she leaves she sees Lucas leaving for lunch decides to talk to him,before Lucas can leave, she approaches him, noticing his distant and pensive expression.
"Lucas, wait," she says, determined to get to the bottom of his distant behavior. He hesitates for a moment, clearly wanting to say something, but just then, Daniel appears, once again interrupting their conversation.Lucas moves to leave but then Kayla jumps back into the conversation, wanting to clear the air with Lucas and understand why he was so cold to her earlier.
"Lucas, I wanted to ask you about something," she begins. "Why were you acting so cold to me this morning? Did I do something wrong?"
Lucas looks startled for a moment, then quickly apologizes. "Oh, sorry about that. I was just... distracted this morning. I didn't mean to come off as cold."After Lucas apologizes, he hastily makes an excuse to leave, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. Kayla watches him go, feeling a mix of confusion and disappointment.
With Daniel approaching, Kayla pushes her lingering questions about Lucas aside and focuses on the task at hand: getting Daniel to talk to Sarah.Daniel expresses his frustration to Kayla, "I was just about to ask Sarah out, but she told me that she and Michael are going somewhere together this Saturday. I didn't even have a chance to ask her!"Kayla tries her best to comfort him, "It's alright, Daniel. There will be other opportunities. And who knows, maybe Sarah and Michael are just friends. Don't give up hope."
As they join the others at the table, Kayla steals a glance at Lucas, wondering if he overheard their conversation.Kayla observes Sarah and Mike closely and notices something odd – they seem to only be affectionate when Daniel is watching. She can see that they're putting on a show, trying to make Daniel think there's something more between them.Kayla, having picked up on Sarah and Mike's act, comes up with a plan. Smiling a little to herself, she starts putting her plan into action.
