And so, you've reached the end of another one of my stories!
As I mentioned in the Prologue, this story was originally written more than five years ago. All that remained was to sit down and revise the details, along with the grammatical and stylistic errors. For a long time, I couldn't bring myself to do it—especially after the events in Ukraine began—because the subject of world wars and the suffering people endured in the past, continue to endure today, and will most likely endure in the future, is incredibly sensitive. Writing a story of this nature is never easy.
Nevertheless, I decided to finish this work because my older sister encouraged me to do so. I don't know exactly what captivated her so deeply about this story, but during its creation she was my beta reader, and for that I am sincerely grateful—to her for her support and for helping this story finally see the light of day. 🌞
I would also like to emphasize once again that this novel, like many of my other works, is a piece of fiction—an historical romance. My choice to set it during the Second World War was never intended to provoke anger, hatred, or division, nor to reopen wounds for those who have experienced similar tragedies in real life. I kindly ask you to view this story for what it is: a work of historical romantic fiction.
Sitting down to finally complete a story I began so many years ago brought me an overwhelming sense of relief. For nearly five years, there had always been a feeling deep inside me that something had been left unfinished. Now, I can finally close another chapter of my own creative journey.
To be honest, I think I enjoy the process of revising, editing, and polishing a manuscript even more than writing it in the first place. Although, of course, creating a story is a wonderful experience as well—especially when new ideas emerge, filled with action, drama, and powerful emotions. I believe many writers experience these same thoughts and feelings.
My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who took the time to read this story. I am incredibly grateful for every view, every star, every comment, and every observation you shared. Even though this novel is now complete, I firmly believe that a fresh pair of eyes can always spot inconsistencies, logical gaps, or mistakes that I myself can no longer see.
That is why every piece of feedback you leave means so much to me.
