Shortly after, Ironhide, Brawn and Prowl enters Detroit in an attempt to help stave off a Decepticon assault, who are being led by Lugnut. They meet with Ratchet, who tells them how he must help with the evacuation, forcing Ironhide, Brawn and Prowl to head off into the city alone. The latter enters the city, and heads through the streets. Despite the area seeming quiet, They are ambushed by, and subsequently deals with Decepticon forces.
At this point, Wheeljack interjects, informing Ironhide and Brawn about the grenades in their arsenal. They utilizes this to destroy the Decepticons up ahead and keeps trudging on, destroying a few buildings and more Decepticons. Eventually he reaches a construction pit and begins to traverse it, only to be surrounded by Decepticon soldiers, including a Titan that he deals with.
While traveling forward, they receives a message from Ratchet, explaining his urgent need for help, due to increasing Decepticon numbers. This then leads him to a large building, which is packed with Decepticons. They once again charges forward, leveling opposing forces, before he witnesses Lugnut pummeling Ratchet. Ironhide, Brawn, Prowl and Lugnut brawl, with the former eventually gaining the upper hand by sending Lugnut falling several stories downwards in the massive complex, but escapes and flies through the ceiling.
Ratchet quickly explains how he needs to repair himself, and Ironhide, Brawn and Prowl holds off multiple Decepticons to allow this to happen, eventually allowing the medic to escape. Ironhide, Brawn and Prowl opts to go for a final stand off with Lugnut, and locates the Decepticon. Lugnut utilizes his plane bomber transformation in an attempt to destroy the Autobots, however, Ironhide manages to turn the tables on him with his newly upgraded cannon, which chews through Lugnut's armor.
As Lugnut lays a final blow on Brawn using the Puke, Ironhide blast the puke and exploded Lugnut, eventually downing him, Ironhide swiftly, and brutally executes the Decepticon, killing him.
