Shortly after Megatron kicks Prime down a massive shaft, the latter becomes aware he landed in Shockwave's lair. Elita One and Evac find Optimus as he awakens, stunned, and he swiftly orders Ratchet to eject some cryo pods, which are meant to freeze Shockwave and his Driller pet. However, the latter manages to regain control of its body, destroying the cryo pods to help its master.
With this, Shockwave begins awakening whilst the Driller distracts Optimus, Elita and Evac with Prime, Elita and Evac disabling it's tentacles to protect himself. Shockwave steps off of his icy tomb, and confronts The Autobots, with Optimus managing to inflict some damage, before some Autobot soldiers come in to try and help in aiding the fight. While the Autobot soldiers are dead, Elita is next to die. Much to the Prime's dismay, the Decepticon assassin destroys them all with ease, before Prime manages to temporarily, but critically wound him.
The Driller then enters, grabs Shockwave, and vanishes, with Prime stating that while the war is won, the battle rages on and mourn the loss of his sparkmate. Shockwave is then shown meeting up with Megatron in the African wildnerness, to which the Decepticon leader orders Shockwave to retrieve at item of great importance, which will bring about Operation Pillar.
