"Mr. Raghuvanshi, There was a woman locked in your house? In your room?" The old man's intimidating eyes made a shiver run down my spine.

The slight narrowness of his icy, accusatory gaze forces me to lower my lashes and stare down at my bare feet.

He is Abhimaan's 'essential' client.

The one who is so important to him that when he called us downstairs, Abhimaan was ready to follow his orders.

My anger is exceeding its limits. Being stuck in a room filled with white walls triggered the utmost vulnerable moments of my life, or the end of my life.

For the longest time, that dream or nightmare seemed too arduous for my brain to comprehend until I reckoned what it meant.

"It is a misunderstanding." Abhimaan attempts to clarify himself, The old man must have been significant, considering I never saw Abhimaan clarifying himself to anyone.

The man shut his eyes in exasperation as he rubbed his thumb against the old wrinkled forehead, In an authoritative tone he raged, "Don't say a word, Abhimaan. I did not expect this from you, keeping a woman locked in your room? Your mother would be ashamed if she was here."

Abhimaan's shoulder slouched, his teeth seething in pressure as he lowered his gaze, facing the uncalled humiliation.

The man's pernicious words made my eyes wide, a shock rippled through me as I gasped out, "That is not tr-" My words stayed mum in mouth as the old man snapped,

"Do not try to save him, kid. He cannot harm you, I assure you!" His assurance is not welcomed, I accept Abhimaan's behaviour has not been delightful; however, This man's interpretation is wrong.

Before I got a chance to talk or explain the situation, The man scowled in anger, his fury directed towards Abhi, "Forget the deal, Mr. Raghuvanshi. You broke my trust and made me ashamed. I will thank god that he did not let your mother see this day."

And with that, he leaves through the front door and my eyes stay anchored at Abhimaan.

He said this was important. The whole time we descended from the stairs, He chanted, "This deal could change my life, I cannot afford to lose it."
