Under the quiet night sky, Mayank and Ayati strolled side by side. The cool breeze brushed past them as they approached the old Canghut place, its architecture standing tall and regal. Ayati's eyes lit up with intrigue as she took in the surroundings. "This place gives off such a London vibe," she mused aloud, her voice laced with wonder.
Mayank chuckled softly. "Of course it would," he replied, his tone light but knowing. "It was built by the British."
Ayati turned to him, her expression puzzled. "Really?" she asked, curiosity sparking in her eyes.
Mayank caught the confusion on her face and couldn't help but smile. "You didn't know that? Oh, right," he teased gently, "how could I forget-you were born in London."
She looked up at him, her eyes wide and filled with innocence, searching his face for any hint of a taunt. The sincerity in her gaze made Mayank's teasing smile soften, realizing she was earnestly trying to understand if there was something more behind his words.
"Well, it was built by the British when they were ruling our country," Mayank added gently, hoping to ease the tension he noticed on her face. His tone was softer now, reassuring.
They continued to walk, the night surrounding them in a peaceful silence. Ayati's eyes wandered back to the architecture, still trying to grasp the weight of his words, while Mayank glanced at her, wondering what thoughts were running through her mind.
As they walked further, the two eventually found a small bench under a canopy of trees, the leaves rustling softly in the night breeze. They sat down, letting the quietness of the evening settle between them.
After a moment, Mayank turned to Ayati, his voice casual yet curious. "So, what's your preference when it comes to drinks?" he asked, his eyes searching hers for a response.
Ayati looked at him, her gaze thoughtful, as if she was weighing her answer carefully. She blinked, the faintest hint of a smile playing on her lips, but remained silent, allowing the question to linger in the air, leaving Mayank to wonder what she was thinking.

When Mayank didn't receive a response, he asked again, his voice calm and gentle. "Miss Khurana," he called her attention, "I asked you something."
Ayati blinked, her eyes finally meeting his as she nodded slightly. "What if we eat something?" she suggested, her fingers nervously playing with each other.
Mayank observed her, noting how this was the first time she was attempting small talk. He didn't say much, just nodded in agreement. "That way," he said, pointing towards a nearby restaurant.
Ayati followed his gesture with her eyes before looking back at him. "Shall we?" he asked.
"Hmmm..." she responded softly.
Side by side, they walked towards the restaurant. The guards opened the door for them, and Ayati murmured a small "Thank you" in gratitude, while Mayank simply nodded as he followed her inside.
They chose a table in the corner, away from the crowd, where the quiet atmosphere made them both feel more comfortable.
"So, what would you like?" Mayank asked as they settled in.
Ayati looked at him and asked, "Can we have the menu?"
"Sure." He handed her the menu, watching as she took it and began browsing through the options. He couldn't help but observe how her eyes moved across the pages, how her long fingers carefully turned each one, and how engrossed she seemed in her search.
