I stood at my place, my body froze seeing Mr. Clyde and Maddison as they made their way towards Mr. and Mrs. Ashford.
Do they know each other?
And even bigger question...why is Maddison invited here despite all the things she did?
While I was stuck in those confusing thoughts, Maddison's eyes fell on me and she excused herself from Mr. Clyde, making her way towards me.
Mr. Clyde looked at us and an expression of shock crossed his features but he quickly covered it behind his poker face and looked away.
"Get lost Maddison." Sebastian stood in front of me to stop her from approaching me.
"Come on, Seb. I just wanted to talk to my friend." Shifting her gaze towards me, she said, "Lia, come on, tell him we are friends." Her face held a polite expression, but her eyes said all she was trying to hide.
"You are not my friend and I don't want to talk to you. So you should leave, Maddison." As the words left my mouth, her expression changed from a nice, friendly girl to that of a wolf ready to attack.
"You heard her, Maddison. Now leave." Sebastian told her again, but she didn't pay heed to any of his words.
"I think you should listen to me, Lia darling. Or we can do one thing, I can introduce you to my dad." A smirk appeared on her face, as she titled her head a little towards Mr. Clyde.
Her dad? Mr. Clyde is her dad?
My blood boiled and tears threatened to fall as I processed the new found information.
So she is the girl for whom my dad stopped even looking at me.
I remember that she went to the same school as mine for a few months after mom and Mr. Clyde separated. Though she was senior to me, but I saw Mr. Clyde coming to take her home like he used to pick me from school everyday.
