"ARGH! I CAN'T GET IT SO SOUND RIGHT!" Ada groaned into her hands for the millionth time that day.

The girl was surrounded by all her equipment, including her recorder, guitar, and notes. She tried so hard not to fumble over her notes, but getting it perfect made her stressed out.

She pressed a few buttons on her amp to get a more raw and gritty sound, something she knew Mayhem would be looking for. Pressing 'record' again, she began strumming and playing the riff she had been trying to perfect for the past 2 hours. Fumbling over yet another note, the girl threw a guitar pick across the room and groaned, dragging her hands down her face. Stopping the recording she closed her eyes in annoyance.

"I fucking give up." She murmured into her hands.

Elin walked into her room swiftly, her hands on her hips. "Ada, take a damn break, you've been at this since you woke up. Is it really that important to you?"

"YES!" Ada exclaimed, looking almost offended that Elin would assume that this one-in-a-lifetime opportunity meant nothing to her.

"Just one demo...." She said under her breath, talking to herself as she went to the other side of her room to retrieve her pick.

"Just take a deep breath. Play from your heart, don't think too much about it." El suggested, sitting on Ada's bed beside her guitar.

Ada walked back, sitting down with frustration. Grabbing her guitar she took a deep breath like her sister suggested and pressed 'record' again. " I got this." She said quietly to herself and began playing. The speakers made the windows of her room rattle, and the water on her bedside table to form ripples. Elin smirked to herself and admired her younger sister's talent.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the recording was complete and perfect, perfect enough to give to Euronymous and Dead.

"FUCK YES!" Ada pumped the air with her fist. She paused the recording, not caring that her voice was now part of it. Putting the recording in her bag she ran downstairs, leaving Elin behind in her room.

She began putting on shoes in a hurry, almost falling over a few times. "El, could you drive me?" Ada yelled.

"Why did I know you'd ask." Elin playfully rolled her eyes and wiggled her car keys in her hands.

As the girls pulled up to the Henhouse, Ada quickly hugged her sister, "Wish me luck, El." She smiled brightly. Elin noted the smile, feeling suddenly happy, because Ada hadn't felt this ecstatic about anything for many years. Ada felt nervous now. Despite having previously felt the thrill of finishing her demo, the anxiety surrounding actually giving the demo made her stomach turn.

"You'll be fine." Elin encouraged her and gave her a solid pat on the shoulders.

Ada nodded and took her bag with her demo in it and stepped out of the car. The weather was still somewhat chilly, so she wrapped her jacket around her body a bit tighter. Hurrying to the front door, she knocked a few times excitedly. Realising how childish and immature she probably looked, she toned down her excitement and waited for the door to be answered with a blank face.

"Ada, welcome to our humble abode." Pelle's voice was heard as he opened the door and gestured for her to come inside.

Nodding in appreciation she walked inside.

"Euronymous isn't here yet, so we'll have to wait for him to come to make the decision But feel free to turn the demo on now, I'd love to hear what you're made of," Dead explained and made his way to their studio room. Ada followed right behind him, and while they walked she observed the conditions the pair lived in. The house was old, breaking and barely standing on its own. She was surprised at how the house managed to survive the party the day prior.
