"Akira-sama, I think I should go to my class now, or else my classmates might start wondering if there's something between me and Rennin-sama!" Shoji said to Akira.
"Then, I suppose we can handle the rest of the formalities this evening," Akira replied.
"Before I go, I want to ask you something," Shoji said.
"Go on," Akira encouraged him.
"Since I'm a demon now, do I have any supernatural powers like immortality, regeneration, or teleportation?" Shoji asked curiously.
"There’s no such thing as true immortality or the other abilities you mentioned," Akira explained. " But now that you're a demon, your lifespan has increased significantly. You might be able to regenerate minor wounds, but you'll need to learn magic for that. Don’t worry about healing; we have a healer in our house. As for teleportation, it depends on your unique abilities and stats. Everyone has their own strengths and powers based on their stats. To see your stats, look at the mark of our house on your arm, and you can command it to show your stats."
"Okay! Then, I’m heading back to class," Shoji said as he walked towards the exit.
"Damn, I didn’t know there were demons in this school. It’s creepy but also kind of interesting. I’m excited to see what happens next. I need to get stronger; I was so weak last night that I didn’t even notice someone was following me," Shoji thought to himself.
When Shoji arrived back at school, his friends were shocked to learn that he had spoken with Rennin.
"Oh! Shoji, where were you until now? What were you doing with her?" his friends asked, clearly intrigued.
"Ehh! They won’t leave me alone until I give them an answer. Maybe I should say something to stop their questions," Shoji whispered to himself.
"It’s not what you’re thinking," Shoji started to say, but before he could continue, one of his friends, Taki, interrupted.
"I do find it suspicious, but there’s no way you two are dating. She’s turned down a lot of guys at this school. She never really talks to anyone, so they’ve started calling her the ‘Ice Princess,’"Taki said.
"Yes, I’ve heard she’s smart and good at sports. You’re really lucky to have talked with her, Shoji," another friend added.
"Ehh! What should I do now? From what they said, there’s no chance someone like me could be with her. I can’t wait for the evening—I wonder how many people at this school are devils like me," Shoji muttered to himself before drifting off to sleep in class.
---- In the Evening ----
Shoji opened the door to the place where they had agreed to meet and was surprised to see that the house was much larger than he had imagined. Inside, it looked like an old, abandoned mansion.
"Welcome, Shoji," Rennin said as he stepped forward.
"Thank you for rescuing me and letting me join your team, Rennin-sama," Shoji said, bowing his head to show his respect as he walked towards Rennin.
Rennin instructed everyone to introduce themselves to Shoji.
"I’m Zora, and I’m the healer in this house," said Zora.
"I’m Eric, and I’m a knight in this house," said Eric.
"I’m Drake, and I’m a magic user in this house," said Drake.
"I’m Hana, and my ability is super strength," said Hana.
"Nice to meet you all. I’m Shoji Hidomiya, and I don’t know about my power yet. I’m looking forward to working with you all," Shoji said to everyone.
