Time to take a rebirth...

A place of empty space and silence.

"Am I dead? What happened to me, and where is that girl who tried to save me?" Shoji wondered aloud, trying to make sense of his surroundings.

Out of nowhere, a man appeared before Shoji. "You aren't dead, Shoji. You're in your consciousness. To be honest, you're really lucky that girl saved you. But it's time for you to wake up. We'll talk again sometime," the man said before vanishing.

Shoji's eyes snapped open, and he found himself lying in his room. His wounds were fully healed.

"Was that just another weird dream? But... it doesn't feel like it," Shoji murmured to himself as he rushed to check the date on his calendar.

"Shoji, where were you last night? And when did you sneak back into your room? It's really strange," his mother, Luna, called out.

"Sorry, Mom! I'm really busy. I need to get ready or I'll be late for school again!" Shoji shouted back, racing to the washroom, his mind still buzzing with confusion.

---- At School ----

Shoji spent most of the day lost in thought, replaying the events of the previous night.

During the sports period, while everyone else played around, Shoji sat under a tree, trying to rest. As he glanced around, his eyes landed on a girl standing by the window.

"Isn't she the girl from last night? She's really beautiful... those crimson eyes, that grape-purple hair... everything about her," Shoji whispered to himself, his heart skipping a beat as their eyes met.

"Why is he staring at me like that? Did he recognize me? This might save me some time if he's at the same school," Rennin thought to herself as she caught his gaze.

"Maybe I should talk to her," Shoji thought, getting up to approach her. But before he could make his move, Rennin stepped away from the window.

"Damn! What should I do now? I don't want to miss my chance to talk to her," Shoji muttered in frustration as he sat back down.

After the sports period, back in class,

Shoji found it hard to focus, his thoughts continuously drifting back to the girl. He was dozing off when a classmate nudged him awake.

"Hey, Shoji, someone's here for you," his friend, Akimitsu, whispered, pointing toward the door.

Shoji rubbed his eyes and looked up, surprised to see the girl (Rennin) standing there.

"She came for me?" he thought, excitement and nervousness mixing inside him.

As they walked together outside, Rennin led Shoji to a quiet spot near the school.

"So, you remember me and the promise you made, don't you, Shoji?" Rennin asked, her voice calm but firm.

"Promise? Oh! Yes, I remember... something about helping you," Shoji stammered, trying to recall the exact words.

"How do you know where I live? And what happened to me last night? Who were those people who attacked me?" Shoji asked, confusion and curiosity evident on his face.

"I'll answer all your questions," Rennin replied, her expression serious. "But first, I think we need a proper introduction."

"My name is Shoji Hidomiya. I'm a first-year student," Shoji said, offering his hand.

"My name is Rennin. I'm a third-year, but more importantly, I'm your master from now on," she stated, ignoring his hand.

"Master? What do you mean by that?" Shoji asked, baffled by her words.

"You have no idea about your powers or the true nature of this world," Rennin began to explain. "This world is governed by three royal families, which you might compare to gods, fallen angels, and devils. But here, they are known as Celestials, Fallen Celestials, and Abyssal Fiends. Long ago, these powers waged a devastating war, leading to a fragile peace. The God of Celestial Dragons, Ragnor, decreed that the powers be sealed to maintain this peace. However, a faction called Shunu disagreed, led by the Blue Dragon, a rival of Ragnor. They seek to destroy this world and recreate it in their image, claiming godhood for themselves."

Shoji listened intently, trying to piece everything together. "So... the dragon in my dreams is one of them? But why me? Why do I have these powers?"

"You're special, Shoji. That's why they targeted you," Rennin answered. "For now, I will help you become stronger. But in return, you will serve me."

"Serve you? Does that mean I'll be part of your family?" Shoji blurted out, his thoughts momentarily drifting to something more romantic before he quickly corrected himself.

"I'm going to reincarnate you into an Abyssal Fiend-a devil, like me. From now on, you belong to my house," Rennin declared, beginning the process of reincarnation.

---- After a few minutes ----

Shoji woke up, expecting some drastic change, but he felt the same. As he looked around, another girl approached him-Rennin's sister, Akira.

"Yes, you may feel the same, but you're now a devil, just like us," Akira explained.

Akira then introduced herself and explained the hierarchy of their house. "A house is like a group of servants who obey their master. The strongest houses are recognized as elite. At the top is the God of Devils, known as Lucifer. Everyone serves under his rule, fighting in wars and striving to become stronger."

Shoji took it all in, still processing the shock of his new reality. "So, which class am I in now?" he asked, a bit hesitant.

"You're currently a lower-level warrior," Akira replied casually.

"What!? The lowest? That's embarrassing..." Shoji muttered, feeling a pang of disappointment.

"Don't worry, Shoji. Unlike others, Rennin-sama is kind and treats her servants as family. She put a lot of effort into reviving and reincarnating you. She didn't give up on you," Akira reassured him.

"Really? I owe her so much..." Shoji said, feeling a new sense of gratitude.

"I'm really lucky to have a caring and beautiful master like her," Shoji thought aloud.

"Yes, but remember, you still need to be careful. Shunu could attack at any time. Here, take this-if you ever need help, use it to call us," Akira said, handing him a small token. "Now, it's time for you to meet the other members of Yuki's family. Welcome to your new life, Shoji."
