"Tay! Is you almost ready?" I yelled.
"I'm coming." He said.
We were about to be on our way to
Katrina and my niecy's funeral.
"It's gone be so sad." I told Jay.
"I know. I ain't trynna see her casket,
let alone a baby casket man." He
replied.
"True. Poor Tay." I said.
"Yall ain't gotta talk about me like I'm
not in the house." He walked in the
living room.
"You look nice brother." I said
distracting him.
"My boy flee as fuck." Jay said.
"Bae shut up." I said.
"I was being one hunnit." He said.
"Yo I'm ready to go." Tay said.
We all walked to the car and drove off.
About 20 minutes we were sitting
outside "Second Baptist Church".
"Damn, all these people." I said.
"She was loved." Tay said getting out
the car.
"I feel so bad for Shantel." I said.
We all walked through the door and
walked to the first row up front. I
hugged Shantel and whispered "Sorry
for your lost."
She hugged me tight with tears coming
from her face and said, "You getting a
little tummy."
I smiled, "My little blessing."
We sat down and waited for service to
start. About 10 minutes after everybody
was seated. The pastor spoke. The
music was so beautiful. They had this
woman sing with the most amazing
voice I ever heard. The caskets were
pink. One big and one small. They
didn't have open caskets. Ion know
what I would do seeing there faces.
After the preaching and all that other
good stuff, People were able to go up
there and say a few words about Trina.
Shantel went first. She was crying.
Everyone was.
"I-I just wanted to say I love you
Katrina. I always loved you. No matter
what horrible things I've done or you've
done. I know you are listening and I
know you are watching over mommy.
Give my nana kisses for me. My
daughter was the best thing that
happened to me. I never thought I
would burry my daughter. She was
supposed to burry me. Katrina had the
sweetest heart. My baby ain't deserve
to end her life like this. But God does
things for a reason right? This ain't a
goodbye. This is a see you later. I love
you my baby." She walked off.
"AMEN!" The church said.
Tay hopped up there next.
"I'm not good wit speeches. But my
shorty meant everything to me. She
was gonna bring my baby into the
world. Ion know why God? Why take
ha from me?" He broke down.
"Jay go get him." I whispered.
Shantel went up there and hugged Tay.
They both were on the ground.
"Let them grieve." Jay said.
The pastor walked to them and touched
both of them.
"Let us pray." He said.
Everyone bowed their heads.
"Our father. Now I know you gone give
us strength. Give everyone the strength
to be strong for our beloved loved one.
We all miss her dearly. Katrina will
never be forgotten. We ask that you
heal the pain in our hearts and bear
the thought of what happened to her.
Our father we ask that you protect her.
My god. She's with you now. We ask
that you continue to look over us and
keep us all in your will. In Jesus name,
amen."
"AMEN!" The church said.
The service was over and we were all
taken to the grave where they were to
be buried. After everyone said there
goodbyes. Katrina and her unborn
child were left to be buried 6 feet in the
ground. On our way home we decided
to let Tay know the news.
"Tay I know this isn't the right time to
tell you this but I'm pregnant."
"I knew it." He said.
"I knew you was gone know cause you
not stupid." Jay said.
"Yeah, we're having a baby." I said.
"Congratulations." Tay said.
I turned on the music all the way home.
I was thinking in my head about
everything.
"When will things get better?" I
thought.
