I hate that I  saw it with my own eyes. Immediately I became the torch holder for breaking the news to her. If only I  was lying about it as a joke, or if I  was as drunk as everyone else to be oblivious. But there he was... son of a bitch.

The couch at this pool party felt like a luxury upgrade, as I sank into the grey couch cushions next to Soorae. He was faded beyond his limits, unable to even socialize as much as he wanted to. He gave us the excuse of "needing a couple of minutes to get back in the game," but I knew he wasn't getting up anytime soon. Almost the entire group felt the same, looking around I could see everyone laying around on each other, belting out lyrics to songs they love, trying to keep the fire they once had. The girls sloppily sipped their drinks while the boys looked glued to their seats. I had a couple of drinks myself, but the high from the leaf had hit my head more than anything.

My phone was the only thing that could entertain me for the time being until Duane and Saeroyi arrived. I scrolled on my phone tuning out the noises and chatter around me, it was loud which wasn't my style. But I enjoyed watching the rest of the group have fun while I would be the friend that tells them they've had too much and when it was time to leave. What they typically would ask me to do, even if they fight back to have more. Saeroyi was the only one I wanted to chat with, to check on her that is. She'd been off the radar for some weeks on end, I know her life has gotten a bit complicated with searching for universities and how she'd be paying for it. Even passing her finals, but it sounds like she's back... or at least I hope so.

"Yo dude..." Soorae tapped my arm but I didn't feel it much nor could I barely hear his voice over the noise. I felt him lean over and call me again. "Rae look-" He tapped me once more and pointed up to a figure that couldn't be seen. Not even catching in the neon lights. "Doesn't he look familiar?"

"Fuck are you talking about? You're drunk dude just relax-"

He shushed me and pointed harder at what he saw. "No listen, he looks like someone we came with. Just squint."

We both squinted, I still couldn't see much until the figure began to move towards the lights and revealed its face. "See? I think that's Zeno over there with some... college girl maybe?"

"What's he doing over there?" I watched every move he made, he caressed her cheek down to her chin and tilted it up swiftly. He's... flirting, or am I high as hell?

"Looks like he's got some college girl gawking over him. He has to be super drunk right?" He leaned back and relaxed into the couch again as if his theory was right. This wasn't the first time we heard about him cheating on her, I couldn't have leeway on him just being drunk.

"Maybe, it could be his friend or something." Part of me would've said more at that moment, but I couldn't hype up Soorae's head for drama... nor tell the girls, or they'd run to her causing another scene we don't need here.

"Sure... a friend, the guy who can't keep his dick in his pants." He scoffed at my lame excuse. "Let me know if that stays true."

I couldn't shake the feeling that we might be right until his eyes snapped over to us as if he felt eyes on him. Confirmation that he was doing something that would cause a riot. I looked away swiftly without showing how startled I was on my exterior, I chose to look to my left where Yiseo was next to me. She held a can in her hand while lying on Lindsey's arm with her eyes closed. She must've felt my gaze as she opened her eyes to look back at me, mouthing the word "what?" at me.
