(Jesse's POV)

I hurried to my bed, wondering why my dad was acting so strange. I knew about the black box. He told me he found it in someone's pocket and that it was dangerous. I never went towards it, and he never mentioned it till now. I wonder if it has anything to do with that Lightning guy.

I decided I wouldn't question the thought anymore and started getting ready for bed. I quickly brushed my teeth and hopped into bed. I rolled onto my side, and hoped for a better tomorrow, as I fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning I awoke around 8:00. I sat up and stretched as I looked around my bedroom. Wait a minute...this isn't my bedroom. My eyes suddenly opened wider and I almost screamed.

I was in what appeared to be a laboratory. I was dressed in some sort of hospital gown. The room was all white and I laid on a green examination bed. Bright shining lights hung from the ceiling and there were a few cabinets filled with medical instruments.

I continued looking around the room until a woman walked in with my dad right behind her. "Dad, what's going on?" I asked

He gave me a stern look, "Honey, remember last night I told you to call me Captain Loster. Now, to answer your question, you are in the inspection room. I'm going to be using you for an experiment."

I looked at him questioningly.

"An...ex-experiment?" I asked.

He nodded, "Yes my dear. I have some unfinished business in the Car World and I need to use you."

I looked at him, a confused look on my face.

"Dad, what are you talking about? The Car World? Why me?"

"Because, you are the one with the good health and smart mind, and I need this done right." he explained.

The woman, who I assumed was a nurse, helped me to stand up. I didn't realize how weak my legs felt. My head was starting to spin and I felt as if I would pass out.

" Ugh...dad I don't feel good. What happened to me?" I asked.

"It's Captain Loster, and we had to give you a shot to help with your travel to the Car World."

I didn't even try to comprehend what he was telling me. My head was spinning too much. The nurse sat me in a wheel chair and started rolling me down the hall. I closed my eyes and hoped the spinning would stop, but I continued to feel dizzy.
We rolled into a room, with several scientists surrounding a circling object in the center of the room. I looked a little closer and realized it resembled some sort of portal. The dizziness stopped and was replaced with fear. I tried to stand and get away, but I was strapped to the chair.

The nurse continued rolling me towards the portal. I started to scream, but it seemed that no one could hear me. I looked back and saw my dad, watching me being pushed into the portal.

"Dad! Help me!" I screamed.

He looked at me and smiled, and within seconds I entered the portal, and the world around me went black.
