fresh linen hanging in the sunlight,
fluttering elegantly in the wind alongside...
the moonlight.

sunshine tracing gentle lines on your skin,
highlighting the beauty of your soul,
hidden deep within.

i remember we would sit on the hood of your car,
listening the soft strum of your acoustic guitar,
and i'd stare up into the depths of the stars

you would trace each constellation with your fingers,
and i would never want to leave there.

cherries between your lips,
staining them red with juice,
almost like a kiss.

saltiness of the seas,
clearwater up to our knees,
and i laughed when you picked me up and dunked me.

someone i didn't want to lose,
someone who's love had helped guide me to a path i didn't think i'd ever choose.

their smiles so bright, it'll make me forget i even live a life...
especially tonight.

i don't ever want to hear you say it wasn't love,
it wasn't love

because it was.
