i watched raindrops race down car windows,
and i watched candles burn out,
i loved myself and my life a little,
and i watched everything i trusted crumble down.

i watched people smile for real,
at times i watched them cry,
and i saw both at the same time,
some of the best days of my life.

i held your hand and sent cold droplets flying from the water,
and it's off again and i'd do anything to have you now or later.

i raced you down the wet cement,
i hugged you tight before you left,
the last time i'd ever see your silhouette.

i watched fireworks get set off,
and i watched them soar,
and i let my heart warm,
finally home.

we all screamed at the top of our lungs,
and it's... wait, it is just a memory,
where we dance the night away,
until we collapsed into each other.

i watched the fire burn out,
what i once called sparks all died out

wrapped a blanket around you,
told you good night...

that was the last time.

we enjoyed the longest drives on the highway,
and lots of smiles.

i watched cherry juice drip from your lips,
and the rain falling on your perfect skin.

i celebrated so many birthdays,
said goodbye on other days,
i cried, you smiled,
and the other way around.

playfully, i pushed you deep into the lake,
jumped in after,
i watched the sun rise and set,
and breathed fresh mountain air,
all just for it to fade...
as if never there.

you made reach to pluck the stars,
tear out my own heart...

s l o w.

it's worth it.
i'll go and die,
now.
