Dear Dorothy,
I wanted to thank you for inviting me to the soiree at your house last Friday. I had a wonderful time, especially since it was a much-needed distraction from the recent difficulties I've been having with Hans. We've been arguing frequently over letters, and it has been quite distressing.
Anyways, I was wondering, if it has come to your attention that one of your acquaintances and I had a rather amusing conversation. It felt like much more than a simple small talk. The second I came to the table he said that I must greet him first and only after that I can proceed to sit with all of you. At first it bothered me, but then he smiled, and I have to admit, it made me forget about it. So I greeted him and we introduced ourselves. He said his name was William.
He kept looking at me in a very intriguing way, so intriguing that I felt like I was being pulled closer every time he looked at me. Do you know something about that? I hope you do. Could I be mistaken? I shouldn't lose my head thinking about it - it was probably only in my head. Anyways, enough about me.
I noticed you had some fun time with the curly-haired gentleman. I'm eager to hear all about it!
Love,
Lotte
