tw: panic attack

taylor lays in bed, her notebook resting on her knees, travis was beside her scrolling through his phone. taylors pen moved swiftly across the pages, writing down lyrics that had been swirling around in her mind all day.

suddenly, she felt a wave of anxiety wash over her. she took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but it seemed to only make things worse. her chest tightened, and it was getting harder to breathe. she dropped the pen and clutched at her chest, her eyes wide with panic.

travis noticed immediately. he put his phone down and turned to her, concern etched on his face. "hey, hey, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice gentle but urgent.

taylor shook her head, unable to speak. she felt like she was drowning, the room spinning around her. travis sat up and pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly. "it's okay, taylor. just breathe with me, okay? in and out, nice and slow."

he took her hand and placed it on his chest, guiding her to match his breathing. "you're safe. i'm right here. just focus on my voice." his calm, steady presence began to anchor her, and she tried to mimic his slow, deep breaths.

after a few moments, the tightness in her chest started to ease, and her breathing became more regular. she looked up at travis, tears in her eyes, and he wiped them away with his thumb. "thank you," she whispered, her voice trembling.

"anytime," he replied softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "you're not alone, taylor. i'm here for you, always." he held her close, and they lay back down together, her head resting on his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat soothing her.

as the minutes passed, taylor's breathing returned to normal, and she felt a sense of calm settle over her. she listened to the sound of travis's heartbeat, a steady, comforting rhythm that grounded her. she knew she was lucky to have him, someone who understood her so deeply and cared for her so completely.

travis gently stroked her hair, his touch reassuring. "do you want to talk about it?" he asked softly.

taylor took a deep breath, considering his question. "i think... i just got overwhelmed," she admitted. "sometimes the pressure gets to me, and it feels like everything is closing in."

travis nodded, his expression understanding. "you don't have to carry it all by yourself," he said. "i'm here to help you shoulder the burden. we're a team, remember?"

taylor smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. "i know. and i'm so grateful for you." she leaned up to kiss him, a tender, lingering kiss that conveyed all the love and appreciation she felt.

as they settled back into the pillows, taylor picked up her notebook again. "do you want to hear what i was working on?" she asked.

travis grinned. "absolutely. i'd love to."

taylor began to read the lyrics aloud, the words flowing effortlessly now that the anxiety had passed. travis listened intently, his eyes never leaving her face. in that moment, taylor felt a sense of peace and contentment, knowing that no matter what challenges came their way, they would face them together.
