Aurelie noticed right away that something was off with Walker. He hadn't called her "Aurel" once since they arrived at the park, and the familiar warmth in his voice was replaced by something cooler, more distant. As they all sat around, chatting and laughing, Walker's quietness gnawed at her. She tried to shake it off, but the more she thought about it, the more it bothered her.

She finally decided to talk to him, thinking maybe he just needed someone to listen. But when she approached him, sitting down beside him on the grass, his answers were short and his eyes barely met hers.

"Hey," she started, trying to keep her voice light, "you've been quiet today. Everything okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Walker replied, his tone clipped, eyes still fixed on the ground.

Aurelie's heart sank. This wasn't like him. "Are you sure? You don't seem like yourself."

"I said I'm fine," he repeated, his voice a little sharper this time.

Aurelie flinched slightly at the tone, but tried not to take it personally. "Okay... if you say so."

She sat there for a moment longer, hoping he'd open up, but he didn't. The silence between them grew heavy, uncomfortable. Finally, unable to stand the tension, she stood up.

"I'm gonna go grab some water," she said, more to fill the silence than anything. "I'll be back."

Walker just nodded, not even glancing up at her. Aurelie walked away, her stomach twisting with worry and hurt. She couldn't figure out what had gone wrong.

As she left, Mason, who had been watching the whole exchange, made his way over to Walker, sitting down beside him.

"Dude, what's going on?" Mason asked, giving Walker a knowing look.

Walker sighed, finally looking up. "It's stupid, really. It's just... that post she made on her spam account. The one where she said she liked someone."

Mason nodded, understanding dawning. "And you're upset because...?"

"Because," Walker began, frustration lacing his words, "everyone knows who she's talking about. It's me. But she didn't tell me, not directly. I had to find out like everyone else. And it just... it feels weird. Like, why couldn't she just talk to me about it?"

Mason thought about that for a moment, then replied, "Maybe she didn't know how to bring it up. It's a big thing to admit, even if everyone kind of already knows. But, bro, you're gonna have to talk to her. Ignoring her isn't helping."

Walker sighed again, running a hand through his hair. "I know. I just... I was surprised, I guess. And now I'm not sure what to say."

"Start with being honest," Mason suggested. "Tell her how you feel. She deserves to know."

Walker nodded, knowing Mason was right. He looked over to where Aurelie was standing, talking with Scarlett. He could see the worry on her face, the way she kept glancing back at him.

"I will," Walker said, determination settling in. "I'll talk to her."
