😘Aurelie and Walker found a quiet spot outside the venue after the premiere, the excitement of the night finally dying down around them.
The soft hum of distant conversation filled the air as they stood under the dim glow of streetlights, the night cool and calm.
Aurelie leaned against the wall, her arms crossed in front of her. She glanced at Walker, who was nervously fidgeting with his hands.
She took a deep breath, breaking the silence.
"I've missed you," she admitted softly. Her voice was quiet, but it held the weight of everything she hadn't said in the months since they had broken up.
Walker met her gaze, his expression softening. "I've missed you too, Aurel. So much."
There was a beat of silence as they both let that sink in. Aurelie bit her lip, looking down at her shoes for a moment before speaking again. "I'm sorry for how things ended. I didn't handle it well, and I've been thinking about it for a while. I don't want us to leave things like this, Walker."
He nodded, stepping a little closer. "I don't either. We were... really good together. But I get it, you know? Things were getting complicated. We both had a lot going on."
Aurelie looked up at him, her eyes soft. "Yeah, but I don't want that to be an excuse. I still care about you, and I want us to be friends again. I miss having you in my life."
Walker smiled faintly, nodding. "I miss that too. I miss you. As friends right ?." He took a breath, then added, "We'll take it one step at a time."
Aurelie smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "I'd like that. I really would."
They shared a quiet moment, the tension between them easing. Slowly, things felt more natural, like they were finally finding their way back to each other—at least as friends for now.
Later that night, Walker was lying on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. He had his phone pressed against his ear, talking to Aryan, one of his closest friends.
The conversation had started off casual, but Walker's mind kept drifting back to the talk he'd just had with Aurelie.
"So, how was the premiere?" Aryan asked, his voice buzzing through the phone.
"It was good. Really good," Walker replied, his tone distracted.
"And how's Aurelie? You guys talked, right?" Aryan pushed, sensing that Walker had more on his mind.
Walker sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah... we talked. She wants to be friends again, and honestly, I'm glad. It's been hard not having her around."
Aryan chuckled softly. "But?"
Walker paused. "But... I don't think I'm over her," he admitted quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I thought I was. I mean, I told myself that we were better off apart, but seeing her again tonight, talking to her... it just hit me all over again."
Aryan was silent for a moment before speaking. "It makes sense, man. You two were really close. It's not easy to just let that go. Maybe it's a sign that there's still something there."
Walker sighed again, feeling the weight of his own thoughts. "I don't know. I don't want to mess things up again. She wants to be friends, and I don't want to ruin that."
"You won't," Aryan reassured him. "Just take it slow. You don't have to figure it all out right now."
Walker nodded, though Aryan couldn't see him. "Yeah, you're right. I'll figure it out. I just... I'm not over her."
As he hung up the call, Walker couldn't shake the feeling that his connection with Aurelie was far from over. Something inside him told him that this was only the beginning of whatever was next for them.
