"So." Amanda has cornered the six of us as soon as we step off stage. "How do we think that went?" She asks exasperated.
Oscar shrugs. "Not too great?" He guesses and Amanda's nostrils flare.
"Not too great would not even be strong enough." She hisses, and she takes a look over her shoulder ensuring that the reporters have gone. "What the hell were you all thinking? All of you suddenly want to play the hero? Next time questions like that come your way you're to smile, laugh, and then ask for another question. Not go off at the reporters. I know they ask dumb things, but the media wants to know these dumb things. By attacking them like you did you put yourself at risk!"
"But, they were being dickheads!" Lando protests. Both of the Ferrari boys remain quiet, as do I and Sarah.
"I don't give a flying fuck! What you three did-" She gestures to Lando, Charles, and Carlos in turn. "Was bad for your image."
"What would have been bad for our image would've been me punching that dickface who asked about Charles and Cami," Carlos mutters.
"I don't care what they said, risking it all because a question is asked is so unbelievably stupid and something that I, personally, have warned you three about," Amanda says, again making eye contact with Lando, Carlos, and this time Oscar.
"Sorry, Amanda," Lando says and Carlos nods.
"Yeah, sorry." He mumbles.
Amanda looks at us all and narrows her eyes. "If it happens again George will be the one telling you off, not me." She says and I shiver at the thought. Georgiana wouldn't be as nice. She turns away without another word.
"Yikes," Oscar mutters, I hum in agreement.
Charles closes his eyes and leans his head back, leaving Carlos and Lando to chatter between themselves for a while. I watch them interact with each other, and truly they do seem like good friends. Lando makes fun of Carlos and Carlos doesn't even get mad he just rolls his eyes and laughs.
Sarah is studying them also, her eyes glued to Lando. I walk over to her and whisper in her ear, "Good thing the media didn't ask about you and Lando, hm?" I mumble and she goes pink.
"W-what?" She stumbles over her words, flustered.
"For that reason." I snicker and she looks at her feet.
"Shut up." She mumbles. I ruffle her hair and she pushes me away laughing.
I feel Carlos' eyes on me and I look over my shoulder and meet his gaze. His eyes linger on my face, his expression is heavy, his eyes full of darkness. I smile at him and he takes a breath and shoots me a wink before continuing with Lando who has just punched him in the stomach. Sarah and I laugh as the boys take turns throwing punches.
Oscar watches on amused and Charles has seemingly drifted asleep.
"When's the next show?" Oscar calls over to me.
I shake my head. "God I don't even want to think about it. It's next week I believe."
"What surprise songs will you do?" Charles asks and I smile to myself.
"You will just have to wait and see," I say shrugging.
"Fine with me as long as you don't do another soppy love song, I don't know if I can handle the looks between you and Charles," Lando mutters, his eyes watch Carlos's reaction and my gaze moves to him also.
"You're just jealous she didn't do one for you, dickhead." Charles says and Lando flips him off.
"Nah, I can't cause too much of a scandal this time," I say, still looking at Carlos. His eyes meet mine and I smile.

"How are we doing tonight Canada?" I call to the crowd.
The Canadian Grand Prix had been an amazing race for Ferrari, and okay for McLaren. Charlie had come third and had run straight off the podium to Sarah and me, soaking us in champagne. Carlos stood with us as we watched the podium and he and Charles celebrated together. It was nice to see them so happy together, when the anthem for Checo had played Charles' eyes never once moved from my own. I smiled up at him and once the champagne started, I yelled and screamed for him. Charles picked me up and spun me around in a big circle as I laughed. He was covered in sweat and champagne but it was nice. Carlos watched us both, laughing to himself.
I was now performing for the after-race party of sorts. The crowd roared, and it was nice to see some people in the crowd wearing my merch along with the usual F1 merch.
"Now, this is my favorite part of any set I do. It's time for surprise songs!" I say into the mic, I look behind me to see my face reflected at me on a massive screen. I fight back the sickness churning in my stomach and look at Marianne before holding up three fingers, the code for the first option for tonight's surprise song. She sends me a wink before the intro starts, the lyrics starting immediately on an automated track that provides a backing.
"My town was a wasteland, full of cages, full of fences parent queens, and big pretenders. But for some it was paradise." I start signing and the crowd who recognise the song scream.
"My boy was a montage, a slow-motion love potion. Jumping off things in the ocean. I broke his heart 'cause he was nice...He was sunshine I was midnight rain. He wanted it comfortable, I wanted that pain. He wanted a bride, I was making my own name. Chasing that fame. He stayed the same, all of me changed like midnight rain." I find who I'm looking for in the crowd, Carlos. He stands with Charles towards the back, his face is full of a torment I can't place. Charles stands next to him, his eyes full of a different emotion entirely. I smile at them both, trying to focus my gaze more on Charles but my eyes wander to Carlos like they always do.
"I guess sometimes we all get, just what we wanted. Just what we wanted. And he never thinks of me, except when I'm on TV." I say the lyrics and send both boys a wink. The crowd roars as they notice the interaction, everyone assumes that it was for Charles. But I know who it was for really.
