The hall was large, filled with rows of desks. Students were scattered throughout, some nervously tapping their pens while others were hunched over their note cards. The atmosphere was palpable with tension. Taehyung was seated at a desk in the front row. He had a disheveled look, messy hair, a wrinkled shirt, and dark circles under his eyes. He stared blankly at the exam paper in front of him. He took a deep breath, glancing around the room. Everyone else seemed focused while he was there not remembering anything
Taehyung: Just think... History is about remembering the past. Just remember...
He shifted in his seat, running a hand through his hair.
Taehyung: But what do I remember? I should have studied harder instead of arguing and making out with that pig.
He shook his thoughts off when he remembered the argument he had with Jungkook last night. He slept of the living room couch last night as well. He was able to get away from Jungkook's grip after kicking him down there. He didn't mean to do that but Jungkook was making him feel thousands of butterflies and he was not liking it. He sighed before looking back at the paper.
Taehyung: What was the significance of the Treaty of Versailles?
Suddenly, he heard the clock ticking loudly, each tick echoing in his mind. He sat back up, a spark of determination igniting.
Taehyung: I just have to visualize it. 1919, the world...
He started scribbling down notes that aren't coherent. It was just a mix of terms and names with no context. Frustrated, he crumpled the paper and tossed it aside.
Taehyung: Why can't I remember anything? I should have written it down more... This is all Jungkook's fault.
He looked at the watch. Time was running out. Panic setted in.
Taehyung: Okay, think of significant events. World War I... The Great Depression... The Civil Rights Movement.
He tried hard to remember key figures, dates, and events, but it was just a jumble in his mind. He covered his face with his hands and groaned.
Taehyung: Okay I need to calm down. Blaming Jungkook right now won't make me remember the answers because I never learned them. I should focus. One step at a time. The French Revolution... That must be important!
He wrote furiously, piecing together thoughts that were once scattered. Time slowly passed, but he remained focused, now scribbling notes that made more sense. Well, at least he thought it did.
Taehyung looked up at the clock again, feeling a small sense of accomplishment. He took a deep breath again, steadier this time.
Taehyung: Okay, just keep going. There are still two questions left to answer.
At this point he did not care if the answer was right or wrong. All he cared about was answering all the questions and leave nothing blank because when entering the hall Jungkook told him to remember that something is better than nothing.
Suddenly, the instructor announced that time is up. Taehyung froze momentarily, then hastily wrote his last answer and closed the exam. He breathed a sigh of relief.
Taehyung: Well, I did my best... whatever that means now.
He gathered his belongings, a mix of nerves and relief washing over him. As he exited the hall, he saw Jisoo waiting outside.
Jisoo: Hey! How'd it go?
Taehyung: Surprisingly okay. I remembered more than I thought.
They walked down the hallway together, the weight of the exam now lifted from their shoulders. Students were cheering and screaming as they left the hall because exams were finally over. The hallway filled with laughter and chatter. Taehyung saw Jackson and Jhope near the exit so he said bye to Jisoo and ran to them.
