Third person pov
Islaha woke up to the sound of her phone buzzing on her nightstand. She groggily reached over to silence it, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. As she sat up in bed, she noticed a text message from Muhideen.
Good morning, beautiful! Hope you had a great night's rest.
I'm okay, thanks. Still getting over the shock from last night.
I can imagine. But I'm glad I was there to rescue you. You know, I've always wanted to be a hero.
And now you are! My hero, Muhideen.
I like the sound of that. Maybe I'll start wearing a cape to work.
Please don't! I don't think your tech firm would appreciate a cape-wearing CEO.
Fair point. But I do have a superhero name: "The Code Crusader."
That's amazing! I'm impressed.
Thanks! I've been practicing my superhero pose in front of the mirror.
"Hey, what's that? Lemme see." Iqmat's voice came from beside Islaha on the bed."Leave me. It's nothing." Islaha said as she hid the phone behind her.
"Ya Islam!! Come, gossip dey ooo" she shouted running out of the room to only God knows where.
Islaha's heart skipped a beat as she smiled, feeling a flutter in her chest, remembering Muhideen. She couldn't help but wonder what the day might hold.
After getting dressed and ready, Islaha headed downstairs to the kitchen, where she found her mother already preparing breakfast.
"Good morning, dear," her mother said, giving her a warm hug. "How are you feeling today?"
Islaha took a seat at the table, sipping her orange juice. "I'm feeling better, Mom. Thanks for asking."
Her mother nodded, concern etched on her face. "I'm glad to hear that. We'll get through this tough time together, as a family."
Islaha smiled, feeling grateful for her mother's support.
Just then, Iqmat and Islam walked into the kitchen, chatting and laughing.
"Morning, everyone!" Iqmat said, plopping down beside Islaha. "What's for breakfast?"
Their mother smiled. "Scrambled eggs, toast, and fresh fruit. Help yourselves!"
"Mommy can't you just tell us where you get these money from? From the house, the car you bought recently and everything. After leaving Dad's house, we should have been like very poor." Islam asked.
Both Islaha and Iqmat nodded agreeing with him.
"I told you, these are from my savings." Rukayat defended.
As they ate, the conversation turned to their plans for the day. Islam mentioned an interview with a particular company, Iqmat talked about school preparation and their mother mentioned going for a wedding in Ibadan.
Islaha listened, feeling a sense of normalcy wash over her. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all.
But as she finished her breakfast and headed to her room to rest, her phone buzzed again. This time, it was a text from an unknown number.
"Remember, the truth is deeper than you think. Be careful who you trust."
Islaha's heart sank, her mind racing with questions. Who was sending these mysterious messages? And what did they want from her?
"Now i know where to start from." She said as she typed something on her phone.
