Vox's Pawn Pov

I stood in the shadows, my eyes fixed on the house where Alafia resided. My mind replayed the orders from Vox, his voice cold and calculating.

"Eliminate the girl, Alafia. She's a liability."

I remembered the conversation between Alastor and Husker in the Hotel room. They spoke of Alafia with a familiarity that piqued Vox's interest.

Vox, residing in the Vee Tower with Velvet and Valentino, had been monitoring Alastor's movements. His fascination with Alafia grew, and he saw her as a potential threat to his plans.

"Find out more about this Alafia," Vox instructed me.

I was tasked with gathering information, infiltrating Alastor's inner circle. But Vox's patience wore thin. He ordered me to attack, to test Alastor's defenses.

I sneered, recalling the failed assault. Alastor's power had grown, and his shadow... spoke.

Vox won't be pleased.

My phone buzzed, a text from Vox: "Report to the Vee Tower. Now."

I knew what awaited me - Vox's wrath, with Velvet and Valentino by his side. Their presence always unnerved me, but I had no choice.

As I entered the Vee Tower, Velvet's smile greeted me, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. Valentino's brooding gaze followed me, his silence unsettling.

Vox sat behind his desk, his expression unreadable. "So, you failed."

I swallowed hard. "Alastor's powers have increased. His shadow is... sentient."

Vox's eyes narrowed. "Interesting. And Alafia?"

"Alive," I admitted, bracing for his anger.

Vox's expression turned cold. "You've proven useless. But I'll give you another chance."

I hesitated, sensing a trap.

"Use your knowledge to our advantage," Vox continued. "Alafia holds the key to unlocking Alastor's true potential. Find out how."

I nodded, aware of the danger. But I had a secret, one that could change everything.

Alafia was more than just a liability. She was the key to unlocking Alastor's true potential.

And I aimed to use that knowledge to my advantage
