From the crowd you could hear the murmurs "prince Loid the war hero, the beast prince that murdered a whole troop of knights" Luckily for them he didn't pay attention to any of them "As I thought you seem to be quite the sword master, where did you learn those sword skills from"
After a few moments I found the courage to reply "it is a secret after all it is not not deserving of you praise after holding back like that".
"Oh you noticed quite impressive" Prince Loid von Stran what is he doing here and why now of all the time.
"Sorry I was unableto get you name before you unexpectedly jumped out the window" .
That was the whole point "it is Keith. Keith Reinfield." Still trying to keep a cool demeanour "Prince Loid why are you here I won't like to assume you draw you sword just for sport".
My previous life was ended by his hands in a few years time he would start a war that would kill millions keeping him at hands length would be the best idea.
" I apologize for my sudden discourtesy Sir Keith Reinfied I came here to ask if you could do the honor and be my retainer".
" Me be your retainer" I asked dumbfounded "Yes. That is right "
" I respectfully decline" Prince Loid suddenly burst out laughing like he is enjoying this"
The Victoria who doesn't know how to read the room scream " Prince Loid just asked Keith to be his retainer".
But it's true the man who once killed me just asked to hire me for no reason what so ever .
Suddenly the royal carriage pulled up in front of my house with an angry Queen Alexa and with an even more furious King.
A panicked Victoria rushed to her mom's side " mother why are you - -"
She didnt even get to finish before the queen dragged her and forced her to the ground.
" Prince Loid mt daughter has done something unthinkable rude to you . Sir Keith heard about your broken engagement and I am truly sorry for that .
That came as a shock to everyone and the king discided to join " I believe you have heard Prince Loid offer but I ask you to please consider my own ".
Sensing the tension Prince Loid spoke up " this matter does not disturb the friendship of our two kingdoms but if possible I would like to speak to him in private "
He must have noticed the crowd increasing and wanted to discuss the matter in private.
" And also if you simply refuse I would just have to find another method" it is amazing how he turns from considerate to threatening in seconds .
After all that we decided to have a meeting at my house or former home which my parents allowed willingly after a death glare from the Prince.
" What exactly are you planning." I came out and asked openly without cutting around corners.
I am not plotting anything I found something interesting at a trip and decided to bring it back with me." I hope he was not referring to me .
" With your engagement broken and publicly disowned I am guessing that not many options are open to you."
He is right in my first life I would have leaped at an opportunity like this but I have gained to many experiences to know that my life leads to infinity possibilities and I have every intention to explore each and every one of them.

"Secondly I would like for this arrangement not to affect the relationship of. Our country. And last but not least I want my equal right as any other citizen in your country."
Without even a second thought he answered with "not a problem we leave tomorrow at dawn don't be late a carriage will be waiting outside for you."
And with a lot of questions in my mind I barely got a wink of sleep that night.As planned the carriage came to pick me up by dawn and I was stuck in Loid's carriage for the whole trip which kept me on edge.
Through our the trip I had no idea what he was thinking and he kept having this relaxed look but his defenses where to high even though it was just two of us in the cart.
Along the way of the I might have dosed off because I felt someone's presence coming towards me as if on impulse I grabbed the sword closest to me and partially unsheathe it again not surprised seeing Loid arm stretched towards me.
"Yes is there a problem" looking at him trying to fill this awkward situation."No problem at all I just want to let you know that we have almost arrived and also you were sleeping resting on my sword."
At that I gave him back and apologized immediately but who would have thought I would be using the sword that ended my life as a pillow in my next life.
"You detected me without me even touching you, skills like that takes tireless training to master".
He has no idea I remember the sleepless night I got from the assassin's guild before I even learnt that skill.
But I let my guard down I can't keep making this slip ups if I don't what him to start suspecting me.
I looked out the window and for a country known for its military might it is a beautiful country.
I never got a chance to visit it in my previous life, there was clear rivers and modern town building it is obvious they paid much attention to their infrastructure and wellbeing of the citizens.
Immediately we were dropped at the palace Loid ordered all the staff and night to gather in the common area though I have an idea what he is about to do.
With that he began "everyone this is Keith Reinfield from the kingdom of Tempest and from now henceforth he is my new retainer" with that the whole place busted with murmur and I could understand why.
He didn't even plan ahead of how to introduce me .
"New retainer , that is news to me how about a few spars in front of everyone.".
That voice came from a man from the back who seems to be heading forward with hesitation and that aura he is displaying captured the attention of the whole room.
"Settle down Shawn this I confirmed his skills myself" Loid reassuring everyone.
I remember where I see him Shawn Rowland a strong warrior who made a name for himself in my previous life , the commander of the knights of the sage kingdom and one of Prince Loid closest friend and he is challenging me in front of everyone .
