Overly Reincarnated

CHAPTER 4

There was nothing I could do at this point the seed of doubt have already being planted in them.

“ My decision has already being made you will now respond to Keith Reinfied as you Commanding officer. That will be all.”

“ First thing first there have been an outbreak of bandits going bandit along the edge of the city”

An assignment on the first day is he trying to prove everyone.

“My informant has tracked their hideous and both Commander Keith and Commander Shawn will be setting out now with a hand full of you that will be all”

After that the rest was mostly left to Commander Shawn who assembled the crew orderly as we arrived at the destination.

We were expecting a confrontation but to our disappointment there was no one in sight.

I guess they had a lookout and fled when they saw us coming.

“ Okay men we break into two groups, I and commander Keith will take the back exit while the rest of you take the front. ”

That was a bold move meaning he doesn't trust me yet. We both got in from the back till we heard screams and coaching of swords from the front, an ambush.

We race there and what meet our eyes was a one man slaughter.

“Go and take care of the injured I will handle the rest “ with that I rushed over to the rest “ those who are able to fight come over to the carriage” but most of them were distracted by the crashing of swords and thuds behind me.

“Finished already after I took the trouble to face you myself” unbelievable, he took them all out without even backing a sweat.

“ Arrest the bandits and those with nothing else to do see to the injured.” his method seems merciless but he didn't kill any of them not a single one of them.

Breaking me out of my thoughts one of the guards “ Commander there is a problem.”

When we rushed over we saw the guards being even with minor injuries hunching over with pain , so just to be safe I picked up one of the bandits weapon and noticed something strange.

It has been coated with poison , it smells like over ripe apple most likely an anesthetic made with shea grass and blue cap rock mushroom. It is not fatal but the effects last for days.

“Load the prisoner I would take them to prison to be judged later, Lieutenant Jones take Commander Keith, the injured and a few abled men to the infirmary I will leave the rest to you.”

With that my first job on my first day was over

“ They don't look badly hurt just a few days rest and they would be fine.” The nurse reassured us before she left.

“So about Commander Shawn does he usually fight like that.” Jones looked at me confused about the question. “ It is normally seeing him fight me fight he most likely wanted to reduce the number of casualties by stepping in.”

“ If you don't mind me saying I think the most surprising thing was Prince Loid bringing you here .”

“ Trust me that was not my doing.” It got silent for a while before Jones spoke up “ how did you and Prince Loid meet.”

“After my engagement was dissolved Prince Loid hired me almost immediately don't ask why I accepted”. I can't tell him why I joined though to find out why he started a war that killed hundred of thousands.

“ Anyway as you lieutenant I would be under you from now on “. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, after confirming the rest of the soldiers we turned in and and headed home for the day.
