The Epilogue

The fire dances in the circle of rocks. The night air is cool but the flames give off a welcoming warmth. Katniss and Peeta are curled up in their special position, Haymitch and Effie are holding hands with their legs interlocked. Peeta made everyone hot chocolate and chocolate donuts with marshmallow cream inside.

Everything feels comfortable, loving, and just home .

The war is over. The wars in their heads are over, but the mini battles will never quite cease.

The ones that were lost will not come back. Instead, they are at peace, and they only wish for them to be at peace as well.

This story-these people-will never finish. It could go on for so much longer! Past their very ends even.

But for now, everyone is happy, filled with delicious treats, filled with comfort, filled with love from the ones around them.

Friendships will be renewed, old friends will visit, past family will join the love once more, and the ruins of the past shall be rebuilt into a newer, more beautiful future.

Trinket's Trinkets will be sold worldwide to many people. Abernathy's Bar and Grill will become busy and joyous. Katniss's archery lessons will help many children. And the Mellark bakery will be run again and brighter than ever.

Gale will learn to move on and treat people with kindness. Johanna's rage will be turned into something else: A hidden passion. Katniss's mother will come back to aid her daughter when she needs her most. The districts will be transformed into an equal society.

Now, they all sit happily-finally with the ones they love most-taking a break from their new busy lives to be with their family.

Life is good, and while there will be many bumps still to come, it will stay that way.

For now, this is goodbye, my friends.

The End.
