"Detective Lee, did you find anything about the case?" Captain King said.

"So far we've only searched Nick's house and found this book filled with names. We're trying to find his ex-girlfriend."

"Why are you looking for the victim's ex-girlfriend?"

"His mother said his ex-girlfriend threatened him because it was him who did the break-up. She said he would regret breaking up with her and she would make him wish he was dead. And this happened a week before his death." Chris said.

"I need this case done fast so when will you be able to get it done?"

"Maybe in a week or two." Nia said.

"I need it done now, I'm giving you guys 78 hours."

'But that's 3 days!" exclaimed Nia.

"Yeah, so get it done."

"With all due respect sir, that's impossible to do. If you want us to get the case done in 3 days, we'll need more manpower." Nia said.

"I figure you'd say that, which is why I got you guys a new partner."

"NEW PARTNER!" exclaimed Chris.

"Yes, say hello to your new partner Detective Asher Antonio."

"Ladies." said Asher.

"I'm here too, you know." Chris said.

"Yeah, whatever. What's your name, girl with purple eyes and red highlights."

"If you must know, my name is Nia."

"Are you a detective?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Because I get to see your face all day and everyday."

Asher winked at Nia.

"Sir, with an ego that big, he's going to screw up the case!" exclaimed Nia.

"I'm not going to lie, his ego is high. But he does good work."

"Ok, but does he do great work?"

"Lee, don't question my work! You do your work, and I'll do mine! Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir."

"Great, now get back to work."

Just as Nia was about to walk out the door, Captain King said something.

"Since you have a problem with Asher, you and him will work closely together. Which means all reports go to him. Now get out of my office!"

Nia walked to her desk, sat in her chair and sighed.

"So... looks like we're working closely together." Asher said.

Nia got out of her chair and looked Asher in the eye.

"Listen here buddy! We may be working together but stay out of our way. Carrie and I worked too hard to gain respect around here and I'll be damned if a guy like you will come here and stomp all over my work."

"Who's Carrie?"

"MY FRIEND!" exclaimed Nia.

"Still don't know."

"The blonde haired girl who was just in the captain's office."

"Oh, her."

"Yeah, her."

"Are she and the other guy dating?"

"No! Their sister and brother for god sakes!"

"So what's the blonde haired boy name?"

"His name is Chris."

"Does Chris have a girlfriend?"

"Yes."

Who?"

"Me."

Asher had a surprise look on his face.

"No, there's no way you are dating him."

"Well you better believe it. We've been dating for 2 years."

"A girl like you shouldn't be with a guy like him, you should be with a guy like me."

"Your ego is really high, lower it down."

"You will be my girlfriend. I'm giving you 3 days to break up with the lemon boy over there."

"And if I don't break up with Chris?"

"Then there will be consequences."

It's only been 10 minutes and this boy is already causing trouble.
